[In an Animal House-like chant]: PICTURES! PICTURES! PICTURES!
I can understand his thought about not ruining their shots. If the magazine spent a bunch of money and time to get certain elegant shots of the 350Z and they were nice enough to let him hang around, that would be pretty di*k to spread them around the Internet even before they get the magazine out. Otherwise what is the point of them putting much effort into having cool shots if someone else beats them to it.
What was the drive like .. was it rough .. smooth? Is there any car that you have driven that you could compare the overall feel and drive like? Is it similar to the 300ZXTT?
How does the car seem to handle? Did you notice people looking at you while you were dirving? (i would assume so since its the firts of its kind).
Any complaints??
Thanks!

The drive was smooth. I have not driven a Z32 in a while but the owner of Z service shop said it drove better than the older ones. I did ride in the M3 and the Z was better IMO. For the price difference it is Z hands down. But remember I said the M was a bit ragged out, transmission and clutch noises. Grippy seats, comfortable ride. . . what more could you ask for. A/C worked well too.

Nice pics Vandy! 4 questions immediately come to mind:
1 - Is there a glove compartment?
2 - How much storage is under the the lid where the cupholders are?
3 - How big is the storage compartment behind the passenger seat? Do you think it could hold a notebook computer case?
4 - What is that latch for on the back of the passenger seat? Is there some kind of storage in the seat or something?

Man those are great pictures! Good job of shooting areas of the car that we've all been asking questions about. It's nice to get some things cleared up. The 3 cupholders mystery is finally cleared up! You've also got the first pics of the storage space that goes into the Navi spot. Frankly, it looks a little lame, doesn't look like it'll fit a lot. Hopefully, it'll take an aftermarket video screen.
You are sure a lucky guy.
You know what, I just realized that I didn't even look at the antenna while viewing all those pics. The LMS is awesome. I'm glad for all those people that had the ***** to go out and order it.

I am the big guy in the pics. There was plenty of room, I was not even all the way in. I was the second biggest person there. To give you an idea I am 6'1" and around 280. The seats were perfect and I think it was a perfect match (me and the car). The new M3 seats were a little small for someone of my size (side bolsters). The may be adjustible but I was there for one car only (Z). No glove compartment in font of passenger. The comartment between the seats had two handheld radios in it (standing up) and did not shut. There is a picture missing and I can show you. The guys I think had a pair of shoes in one of the compartments behind the seats, again I have a pic somewhere. Power supply is behing the center console for a phone or whatever.
A few comments:
Those 2 center console cupholders seem quite unusable. Glad you found the third one.
How deep is the storage place where the Nav goes? Looks like about 2"?
The silver Z on the kick guards sure looks good. Might even look better than the optional ones.
The interior IMO has just the right amount of silver/aluminum accenting. The pedals really add to this look.
I like the rear location of the cig lighter/12v outlet. Is there another one, maybe in the ash-tray looking lid to rear of shifter? (not visible in your pics - wondering if you remember, and opened it)
Great color! Great color!
Thanks Adam!!

VANDYZ,
Were any of the video crew from the magazine there? Specifically, was Jim Scoutten there? You may recall that he's the host of the show. I used to work for the company as a producer when it was Motor Trend TV. If Scoutten was there, I will call him and pick his brain for some more details of the car.
