Default Bose sounds great in my performance Z

I guess I was one of the lucky ones. The bose system in my car sounds great, nice crisp bass. The mid and high end is pretty good as well. My 300zx had a $3000 after market system in it, and dont get me wrong, its no where near that, but its pretty damn good for stock. Im am very happy with the Touring/Performance model...

Do you have a touring or a performance? I don't think the non-touring stereos have much of a problem.. it's the touring ones that have the Bose stereo w/ 6-cd changer and auto-leveling (and crappy sound).

which one do you have? the touring or the performance? cuz if you have the performance model, you dont have the bose system that most are complaining about.

You do not have the BOSE Stereo.

I have a Performance and BOSE is not an option. The BOSE Stereo has a tape deck also and says BOSE on it. You will also notice that if you take the cover off behind the drivers seat, it is a big empty space where the BOSE Sub is on the Touring Model.

The stock stereo is fine.

Yes, he does have the Bose stereo if I may speak for Ballz. In Canada, the models are named differently. Performance Z's in Canada equate to the touring models in the US.

Wink Wacky Canucks!

Please note, people, our Z-friend ballz is in Canada. Aren't the models different there. I think they only have three option levels, Base, Performance/Touring, and Track.

The question is whether the Performance/Touring level gets the base or upgraded Bose stereo.

Still, I want to know if anyone has had any problems with the base stereo as I will soon take delivery of my Performance model here in the states. Thoughts?

You suck! AHAH.. j/k

I called Courtesy Nissan for a replacement speaker grill for the rear 6.5" speaker. The price is about $22.50 each.

Now... the bose 10" subwoofer speaker grille costs less than $6.

Funky?

BTW... service manual CD-ROM won't be available till beginning of next year. Courtesy Price... over $250!!!!

YIKES!!!

mcduck - Peformance and Touring are the same model in Canada. The latter is automatic tranny and both do come with the upgraded Bose package.

Nissan Canada didn't give us much choice in what we could order. Either that or the track pack.

We are wacky up here in the great white north.... you're right!
