this is a longshot. but to my knowledge i don't recall any owners of base 350Zs reporting feathering. this is probably attributable to the fact that base models are fewer in number than other trim levels, but i'm still curious.
Originally posted by robcassell all 350z's have tire feathering. all have same susspension, that is the reason
well i did use the word "longshot". and i'm not disagreeing with you, but nobody has actually confirmed that suspension is the problem... i.e. nobody with suspension upgrades has reported their problem is fixed (that i've read).
None on mine either, about 6500 miles and a build date of 3/03. The fronts are absolutely perfect still although the rear negative camber is very prominent
I just purchasd my Z and was concerned about the feathering. I was told by the salesman that Nissan said this in only on cars with VDC and 18" wheels. Mainly that the VDC was causing it. Anyways, I have the base model.
4,600 miles with 2/03 build date and no feathering. I did however get the alignment redone at 1,100 miles to correct the drifting to the right (the toe was out).
