Default Why an Automatic Transmission

Why did those (myself included) get an Automatic Transmission. Was it cause you like automatics or were you influenced in some way. In my case my wife, and I quote, "You mean to say that you're getting another stick, how am I ever gonna drive it?". When I heard that, I knew I'd never hear the end if it if I got the 6 speed. I might have to buy his/hers Z's so I can really shift this car.

everyone has their own reasons and i think people shouldn't blame others just because they get a auto, imo i think sometime u really enjoy driving a auto in some city(traffic).

but then i still think the auto stick looks ugly...........

Reasons to get AT are commute traffic, hills of San Francisco, and my wife who prefers an AT. I prefer the manual myself.

I actually ordered an AT; but when my confirmation came in, it showed the manual instead. I did not want to make changes and risk my place on the production line.

Call it destiny.

Personally i just like the response i get when i shift. As the driver your in control and it just feels damn good when you make a great shift and hit the gas.

However, some days when your sitting in traffic...i wish i could just put it automatic!! Still overall i'm gonna go with the MT.

Went with the auto because I'm doing a huge upgrade from the car I'm in now - doubling HP, fwd -> rwd, etc... I just didn't want to add to that. I'm young, so I don't have to regret my decision for long. Plus, I don't know how to drive stick, and my ex and I broke up just as he was teaching me. (don't want to LEARN on a 30,000+ car)

3. We like a sports car but don't place nearly as much emphasis on a manual shift as most of you. In fact we place more empahsis on a higher degree of luxury...but in a sports car, not a coupe. We like the looks of the 350Z. Nissan has people like us in mind when they offer the Touring Edition. [/B]
Perhaps you would have been better off with the G35 Coupe? In my opinion, the interior is MUCH more luxurious than the 350Z Touring model, and you'll end up with 90-95% of the 350Z's performance- for about the same price.
