Angry Almost wrecked yesterday

So, I'm going down to the Padres game last night with my gf, and I'm about to get on the freeway from a 50mph road. The two lanes to the right of me were stopped, but we were in the car pool lane and moving pretty quick when this idiot women driving a Rav 4 decides she's gonna pull from a dead stop right in front of me while I'm going 60+

I didn't doubt for one second that I was gonna nail her, but I mashed the brakes, felt the abs, stayed on them, and stopped myabe half a foot shy of her bumper. I was actually shocked I didn't hit her.

*sigh* People are such idiots... She didn't even look afterward or wave or pretend she was sorry. Nice example for your kids....

anyway, just had to rant. Now I gotta go wash the car: the front wheels are literally black with brake dust.

Should have followed her till she stopped and then given her a piece of your mind.

The unfortunate thing about ABS is that there is no screaming of tires to let the dumb-@$$ in front of you know that they are about to get or almost just got completely ****ed by the person behind them....Much like Ares, I will drive for long periods of time with my hand firmly on the horn behind people like this so that everyone around them knows that they have just done something incredibly stupid and pissed off the driver behind them....

Oh, I laid on the horn for a looong time. She wouldn't even look or acknowledge the fact that she screwed up. The whole day had been like that, tho, too. I swear, the traffic here literally gets worse every day. I need to stop commuting....

Well, it's still better than slamming into someone, having to do treshold braking while steering around a sudden obstacle, or spinning out if the left and right halves of the car are on surfaces w/different amounts of friction.

well, you could hook up the horn to automatically honk whenever the ABS kicks in!

Glad to hear that you didn't mess your car up.

But I do know what your next mod should be. An Air Horn!

I found this one clip on the net of how effective it is, but the guy is clearly using it for evil.

I agree - I have been to many Padres games and have not taken my car down there yet. It is just getting to crazy to drive downtown. My friends always have a look of sadness when I pull up in my BMW and not the Z when we go downtown but I know I would be taking my chances driving down there.
