wish I could too. but no matter how much powershifting I do, 275 R-compound do not chirp anything but 1st.

powershifting 2nd is like driving a whole new car now.

it doesnt really hurt anything but the clutch. assuming your not OVERLY rough on it.

Ares, sorry for the stewpid question, but this is my first standard and no one has taught me anything. I drive the car extremely well now, but I don't understand......What is exactly "power shifting"?? How is it that power shifting shifts quicker/ is worse on the tranny/clutch???
Thanks and sorry for the uninformed question!

On the Car and Driver TV review of the car last year, the car chirped 3rd in their 0-60 and 1/4 mi tests.

powershifting is when you don't let go of the gas in between shifts. The idea is to have high rpms goin into the next gear

not hurting anything... not helping anything... putting more stress on your clutch thats about it realy... and tires being obvious... but nothing to stress about...

gotcha! - so depress the clutch pedal but leave the foot on the gas-- obviously you would want the shift to be as quick as possible but still the RPMs are gonna be quite a bit high and the tires will bite when the clutch catches in the next gear, right?
Thanks guys!!

well if you want to do that.. but you wont get a smooth shift... some times that is not the fastest way to shift... depends...

I love chirping, but I resist doing it too much :-)

thanx guys i thought there might be a possibility of damaging the tranny or even throwing the driveshaft. i know its carbon fiber so i guess our cars where built for it, being its a sports car?

usually the tranny is over built, so it can handle more HP than what we have currently....

unless you have some heavy mod, the tranny should be able to handle the abuse....
