RPM's too high
It seem like my car rpm's are too high for only going 60 mph.
It's at about 3000 rpm's. It feels like it should shift to the next gear but
doesn't. If there's anybody out there that can check how high there rpm's
go at 60mph send me a response.
Thanks

Ever try taking it over 60? It should shift into fifth by the time you hit 65 or 70 (depending upon if you are flooring it or not). If that doesn't work then flip it into manual mode and shift up. And if you do shift into manual mode and the RPMs jump up even higher that is because you were already in fifth and it kicked down to fourth.

there is no over drive button. Go into manual mode and go to 60 again shifting yourself. You can go into 5th in manual mode. While in 5th if u are still at 3000RPM at 60MPH take it to the dealer... Im at around 2500 i believe

Mine is around 2300 -2500 if I'm in "D" and just cruising at 60. Switch over to manual mode and manually shift it into 5th. If you're RPM's are still high take it back to the dealer. If you are in 5th gear in auto mode don't forget that it is normal for the car to shift down to 4th when changing to manual mode. It is the equivalent to turning off the overdrive button on a regular automatic, from there you can upshift to 5th or downshift to 3rd. Also, if you are doing a lot of throttle or braking changes in auto mode or changing speeds a lot, the car may not shift into 5th because there may be no need to go to 5th. Make a conscious note to yourself to check what you are doing at the throttle. On the he 5AT in auto mode, you can override the computer temporarily for a short time from the throttle. On the upshifts, holding your throttle at the same postition or slightly accelerating will let the computer do its normal shift, accelerating rapidly will hold the shift or cause it to shift later and easing off the throttle slightly will do an upshift. Easing off a bit or braking will cause the computer to use the downshifting profiles. Your actions at the throttle and brake may keep it from going into 5th.
Listen for any sounds while you are shifting. Grinding sounds, long rattling noises or loud tapping isn't normal on the 5AT and is a sign of a bad transmission. A soft clunk sound or short clicking noises are normal when shifting out of "P" or "D" or when the transmission is shifting fast is normal.
If it is safe and you're in a safe location, try turning off the TCS and doing some quick acceleration in auto mode (no brake torquing). A normally functioning torque converter will put down a lot of torque right away. If your 5AT is revs high and feels like it pauses off the line you might have some slippage problems. If the torque converter is not locking up or it is free reving it will show up as higher RPMs.

Hey man have you tried your camshaft position sensor one of them take it to your local auto dealer or advance Auto and have them run the machine on it and see if it throws any codes I almost guarantee it'll throw a code for that that effects quite a bit of the I just went through it my car was starting out like in third gear and once I got up to speed it was fun but it would never switch into fifth gear so I replaced it and so far it's doing better
