Guys! I'm having a weird sound from the meters (mph, rpm) meter when i rev over 3000-4000. I'm sure it's not enging sound and the exhaust sound. has anyone of you experience this problem?? i have take it to the dealer, they said it's normal, but it just bothers me everytime i hear that sound..
please give me advise on this problem, tks in advance.

I love how when the dealers can't diagnose the problem, they say it's "normal".... I'm sorry but wierd noises from the instrumentation panel is NOT normal. Unless it is a beep 500rpms before redline like the RX-8.
Can you get into more detail? You should find a dealer that is willing to isolate noise/replace your instrumentation panel.

Every time i rev it, i hear a "humming" sound from the instrumentation panel. Rmp gets higher , the sound gets louder ( i sould say more noticeble). Dealer has takes the test drive and say it's normal.
Anyone has same problem? let me hear from you, tks!

I just got back from dealer (Superior Nissan in City of Industry,CA)
Talk to a service manager today about the noise. He's wife drive a 04 Z, and has the same problem. He said due to we all have a big engine, and the noise ( i am not sure if i should call it a noise) is caused because the engine is sucking in the air, therefore when u gas it, it will be more noticable.
thank god my Z is alrite!

thanks for your info. i know it is not from exhaust nor the engine.
can you try no open ur A/C , radio, .. etc on while driving , and listen carefully near the instrumentation panel. once u rev it, you hear a sound , sound like "sucking air" and when u gas high, the sound will be louder. see if you hear anything, tks!
it's hard to find a 03' to test drive from the lot right now. I've thought about that, but it is just hard for now..
Need info from 03' owners, tks!

I have a 2003. When I give it gas with no accessories on, ALL I hear is the exhaust note.
No sucking sound (unless you are referring to the sound the gas stations do to my wallet after some hard driving). I did a dozen hard, medium, and soft launches to redline coming back from work all the name of finding out

I find this weird because i let Tech drive my car, and i was riding with him. actually the sound will not be as "harsh" to my ear when someone is driving my car.. hehe maybe it's just me..
Well did u change to any after market exhaust? IMO, the stock exhaust is not that loud. unless it's close to red line.
