I tried doing a search on port to delivery time in CA but I couldn't get a definitive time range. First, some background:
I believe my car in on the boat "World Spirit" scheduled to arrive 10/25. I will be out of town until 11/1, and the dealership has told me 11/4 delivery. I'm trying to gauge when the car will arrive because I want to be in town when it gets here instead of leaving it at the dealership. I've noticed some members get their car 5 days or so early, but with the recent port lockout, I'm not sure how many days it will take.
From your experience (esp Oct deliveries), is the car more likely to arrive earlier than later? AND how many days after the boat arrived did you get your car?
Any response is appreciated. Thanks.

I believe my car was on the 10/15 arrival boat (cant remember what it was called). I'm assuming that I would have taken delivery by now if that were the case. Could someone vouch for this?
Like ganz, I guess mine could be on the World Spirit, the next boat arriving 10/25. As I understand, the port lockout has had no affect on the delivery dates of Zs. In fact, cars continue to be getting to dealerships earlier than anticipated.

selski, out of curiosity, did your car have any pdi installs that had to be done? ie splash guards or aero kit? because if i'm correct delivery time could be affected by port installs.

The 10/15 boat is the United Spirit. I can believe a delay on delivery for cars on this boat since it is so close to the port lockout. So daytona, it should be any day now
I wonder if this delay will translate to a delay for the next boat.
I must be the only person who wants my car later than earlier.

My Z came with everything except the Nav. Aero and splash was already installed on the car when i picked it up. I dont know if the dealer held the car a day for it to installed, as i never bothered to ask. I presumed it was done at nissan. Either way, it arrived 2 weeks early. Also, it was listed in the dealer inventory 2 days before i picked it up.

Here's the latest:
My car was on Hual Traveller. It offloaded on 10/13, and my car was at my dealers on 10/18 (Corona Nissan).
World Spirit is currently in port, and has been available for offloading since 10/17. As of this AM, it had not been offloaded, but could be offloaded anyday.
United Spirit is scheduled to arrive on 10/25.
I follow up on World Spirit and United Spirit almost daily, and will post what news I get.

Wow, Cool scaf! Your site says that the United Spirit arrives on the 15th and the World Spirit arrives on the 25th. How do you know the status of the ships?

I have a contact at the port whom I have been emailing with since April - that is how I get updates.

My theory is that mine has to be on the World Spirit since my dealer received the invoice last night. He called and said it very well could be dropped off today. What's your take on that?
Please keep this thread updated with any offloading info you may have on the World Spirit. That would be huge. Anytime now...

Congrats Kenneth!
I think your car must have been on Huall, since my contact advises World Spirit is unloading today.
United Spirit is scheduled to offload (discharge is what they call it) on 10/30 or 10/31.

ganz,
delivery time depends on a lot of factors like number of cars passing through customs, port installed options, trucking company used, etc.
case in point: my dealership was to receive two cars, one of which was mine. both cars shipped on the same boat and therfore arrived to port at the same time. both were on the dealer's reports showing same status.
other car came in on a friday. my car came in wednesday of following week.

If my car hasn't unloaded and it unloads on 10/30 or 10/31 then there is no way my car will be here by the middle of Nov like he is predicting!
Is that a fair assumption?
on a side note if a car is POE (Point of Entry) doesn't that mean that it's been discharged?
