where do you refill the auto transmission fluid
#2
I think I remember seeing on the courtesy parts site that it can only be done at the dealership. check out the site.
And I quote from the site:
Automatic Transmission Service: You will find that you cannot loosen the transmission fluid level dipstick or locate the dipstick handle (there isn't one). That's because the new dipstick is bolted in place and should be serviced only at the dealership. Attempting to change or service the fluid on your own could potentially damage the transmission.
3) Automatic Transmission Fluid: Another reason to have your transmission serviced at the dealership is the special automatic transmission fluid that is required (Nissan Matic-J A/T fluid). Using other Nissan or commercially available fluids may cause damage to the transmission that will not be covered by the limited warranty.

ZGirl is right, that was also listed in the owner's manual. It really freaked me out when I first read about a non-servicable tranny.
I think it's time we find someone with the full service guide.
Since you drained the car from the bottom, you have to flip the car over on the roof so you can fill from the top.

I wouldn't if I were you
You'll fry your tranny as soon as it warms up. I think I'd call the nissan dealer and have them seen a tech to your house or else you'll have to have it trailered in.
God Tom I feel for you. I would never confess doing something so Fing stupid among a forum of Z owners.
If I were you I'd have the moderator remove this post and we can all forget it ever happened.

Here is the information you desire:
1) Purchase AT fluid: Genuine Nissan ATF Matic Fluid J or Castrol Transmax J or IDEMITSU ATF HP ONLY !!!
Fluid capacity: 10.3 Liters (10-7/8 US qt, 9-1/8 lmp qt)
However, you will NOT have to add this much fluid! There is always some left in the torque converter. Just keeping checking your level until full (see below).
2) Unbolt the Automatic Transmission Fluid Dip Stick;
3) Pour in the correct amount of AT Fluid.
4) Check Level with Engine On (one level for cold; one for hot).
5) Drive Your Z normally.
WARNING: Do NOT drive your Z without AT Fluid.
People, there is no mystery here. It's like any other Automatic Transmission except 1) It uses special fluid 2) The dip stick is bolted down.
