Default A dealer, a dealer, my kingdom for an honest dealer

I have had the most horrendous stretch of luck trying to get my hands on this car.
I had a deal done (I thought) to get my car only to have the dealer jack the price up at the last second on the contract and then try to spin it as it was necessary to avoid negative numbers on a lease.
After investigating and calling them on it, they said they had to go $1,000 over sticker, when I was told, and gave them the deposit on the assurance that it would be MSRP.
They lied about the negative numbers hoping I would sign the contract.
Then I find another one, almost same car, dealer says, "No sir! We don't sell over the sticker."
I call back to get the exact price so I can put down my deposit and they drop the, "It's got $1,300 worth of Nissan Accesories" card on me.
I'm thinking, "What? Does it have Pamela Anderson stowed in the back."
And all of the dealers all tell me, "Well everyone is selling over sticker and I've got a five-eyed midget with herpes and a wooden leg who's willing to give me 5k over sticker if you don't buy right now."

I'm starting to realize these guys have cars available for a reason. No one wants to buy from them.

It will take serious, intelligent people like you to drop the price to legitimate levels by refusing to be stiffed. As long as a dealers can sell for over MSRP why should they take a cut in pay and sell for less?

He's a little far, but can ship. There is a reason he has sold so many (and I didn't even buy from him)

I still think they just want a Z in the showroom to help them sell other cars. Just stand around and a dealership for a few minutes and watch them operate

The first dealer, the one that lied about the numbers (which by the way I think probably falls clearly under the intent to defraud realm) also told me that the owner wants to keep the cars locally there so that people can see what they look like.
There have been a ton of nice dealers willing to order one, but I am obsessed with instant gratification and have little patience. The dealers know this (Hey! This guy's calling from 500 miles away!!) and so they attempt to take advantage.
I just don't know that I can sit back and quite literally, "wait for my ship to come in."
I'm still working the phones, calling the dealers, and pounding the first one relentlessly with the knowledge that I think the Attorney General's office would be very interested in knowing how many leases involve negative numbers that don't exist..

Sorry to hear abou t that Zygote.....Reading about these kind of dealers has just made me more grateful for my own here in Tulsa. His name is Dave Thompson and has been really above board. I talked with him today and he told me that although Nissan can't tell the individual dealerships to keep the price MSRP,they are making it more worth their while to do so by upping the dealers allocation of350Zs if they are "playing nice". Hope it works out for you.

Lea nissan in upstate NY was awesome to me. They were prompt, courteous and didnt mark my car up one cent (over sticker). This is the second car I've bought from them.
