Why did you sell your Z if you're going to turn around and build another one? Seems like you put alot of time and effort into building the car just the way you wanted it. Wouldn't it have been cheaper to take the s/c off and just keep modding what you already have if an N/A monster is what you want?

I'm also curious, what do you plan to gain by doing this? Certainly there isn't enough potential in the VQ in N/A form to rival the power of a well-tuned supercharger system...

Anyway, good luck with your new project.

I guess I just don't understand...FI vs. NA? I got that from your first post. I was just wondering what the goal was...

Typically, track cars don't get "babied" per se, they given the hell driven out of them, which makes babying hard to do, I would think.

I am gonna baby it till the track, this thing is still gonna be street legal, comfortable, and slick

It'll just have a highly modded engine und suspension

just imagine what a 3.8 liter VQ would feel like

Thanks, I appreciate it! Hey, while we're at it, can I ask if your S/C'd Z passed emissions in your state (if required)? I've almost certainly ruled out TT kits because I'm hearing that none of them are street legal from a SMOG perspective. I'm in VA, so the restrictions are as tough as CA, but I still need to pass....Thanks.

To be honest, I'd think about trying to shoehorn a Nissan V8 in there (5.6, or even 4.5 a la Q45) and build that for NA. There really is no point to modding the VQ35DE for NA. Its cost prohibitive, the gains are minimal, and the comfort level will be nil at best.

Ask anyone on the forum making big numbers with the stock block - its NA all the way.

But I support you for being different, I'd just advise you to work with a different powerplant.

It wont be street legal. None of those have a CARB EO# .... just being picky here .. this is asuming the SD means San Diego, not South Dakota ... if not, disregard the post

he he...

Yes, for the grammatically and syntactically concerned, it should be "more fun", not "funner". But hey, funner works for me!!!
