used 350z *NEED OPINION*
looked at a 2003 350z today with 14k miles on it. i'm not sure what trim level it is, but it has stitched leather seating (black), in very good condition. i can purchase it for $28k. is this a good deal? anything i should be wary of about the 2003 year? thanks!

It's the Touring package. Is it at a dealer? If it has new tires on it there is no way to tell if it suffers from tire feathering. You do NOT want to take on that problem. A few 03s' needed new tranies after having problems. My buddie's Z was one of them. My suggestion would be to look at 04s'. Good luck.

I just picked up an 03 Touring w/ 18k for $24,700 w/ tax and tags. I'd say try and talk the dealer down a bit. I'm so very pleased with my car even if its taking a risk on the tranny and tire issues.
The 350z is one of the best cars for holding value. With that said, why buy used? You can buy NEW Z's for 25000 (invoice, on a base model).
If you do buy a used car make sure is it a CERTIFIED NISSAN from a USED CAR LOT @ A NISSAN DEALER.
Omer.

I bought by 2003 track Z with 1468 miles on it used and extremely well taken care of (flatbedded from out of state and had a black bra on it) and it's initial sticker tag was 30k
28k is way high
In that case with over 14k miles, i'd just go with paying the extra 4k for a current model with no mileage

To me I'd rather get a model 1 year older with more options than a newer one. True you'd be taking on the issues if it happens, but i hear 04's have feathering too.
If you buy used I recc buying a certified car from a car major dealer. They take extra steps b4 they buy it to check everything out.
I bought mine from a private seller and there were all kinds of messed up things like damaged to the undercarriage. Luckily it wasn't super bad and I just fixed it.
If you find out the car has been in an accident (if u buy from a dealer), you can return it under the law! (atleast in texas)
