sounds like some aren't exactly familiar with how this whole Z generation thing works.

1969 - 240Z (Z30) - L24 2.4L I6 @ 151 hp
1974 - 260Z (Z30) - L26 2.6L I6 @ 139 hp (162 in japan)
1975 - 280Z (Z30) - L28 2.8L I6 @ 149 hp
1978 - 280ZX (Z130) - L28 2.8L I6 @ 135 hp
1981 - 280ZX Turbo (Z130) - L28ET I6 @ 180 hp
1984 - 300ZX (Z31) - VG30E/VG30ET V6 @ 160/200 hp
1987 - 300ZX (Z31) - VG30E/VG30ET V6 @ 165/205 hp
1990 - 300ZX (Z32) - VG30DE/VG30DETT V6 @ 222/300 hp
2003 - 350Z (Z33) - VQ35DE V6 @ 287 hp
2005 - 350Z (Z33) - VQ35DE V6 @ 300 hp
2007 - 350Z (Z33) - VQ35HR V6 @ 306 hp

??2008 - 370Z (Z33) - VQ37VHR V6 @ 330 hp

the trend is that engines get bigger, not always faster. They have never stepped the engine size down in the Z, but i'm not saying its not possible...just that they've never done it in the past. Who knows what will happen, but my guess is that engine size goes up. I would like to think we'd get the 3.8L Nismo RS motor, but currently its hand built. It does make considerably more power- 350 in the RS, and 400 hp in the RS-C.

If the object is more power while staying lightweight, why wouldn't they offer a turbo model of the 3.5. How much weight could that possibly add? Wishful thinking, but hey why not dream.

I'm thinking with the price of the GT-R, I'm going to have to get another Z. I will wait for the new model, but I hope I'm not driving around the grocery getter FX for too much longer. I can't take it.
