I agree. The first shot is a rendering. IMO, you can view the teaser shots released by Nissan and see details there that are not on the pic in the first post.

true, the rear window doesn't look 100% the same..
also, the bottom of the door on the nissan press release has a bulging line, but the leaked picture doesn't have it.

FY2008 outlook

The global sales forecast for fiscal 2008 is 3.9 million units. The main contributions to volume growth will come primarily from GOM and Russia. Nissan will launch nine all-new products during fiscal 2008: Teana, Infiniti FX, Maxima, Bakkie successor, Qashqai+2, a mini SUV, Cube, Z and Infiniti G37 Convertible.

Nissans 2008 fiscal year is between April 1 2008 - March 31 2009

Spring is March 21 to June 20

I saw that, but he has to be quoting something else. Why not say December, February or March? MC says specifically, and with an air of "fact-titude" that the Z will start production in January. I just want to know why he said January and what he means by Spring. Should he mean March, that would not be supported by the forecast, since the sales of the new Z would contribute for only a few days and supplies would initially be limited to production capacities. It is possible that the outlook is more marketing hype and they are planning just that. However, if they are serious about the new Z regaining some of it's lost sales, I could see them selling for the last quarter of F2008 (Jan-Mar). Again, why January and how does selling them in right at the beginning of F2009 make any sense with respect to the outlook?

Well for one it's not even suppose to "premier" to the public until Nov. of this year.....Second it will be a 2010 model for the 40th anniversary......

Sure. I think it's pretty generally accepted that Nissan will be premiering it as late as November 19th at the LA Auto Show. Given that and an additional couple months for production to begin and for them to be shipped, it makes sense that they will be available in the February/March timeframe. But MC says that production WILL begin in January (not December, not February). I just want to know the source and any details from said source that are available.

This looks better than any new C5 or later Vette. It might not be as fast, but we're not talking about that, are we?

Aston Martin, Ferrari, let me know when they release a car that looks like this for less than $40k. Better yet, let's just forget it because it will NEVER happen.

The 7AT in the new 370Z will without a doubt use paddles. They are in the new FX, new Maxima, and current G's. Guess what? They will be in the Z. Regardless, 6MT FTMFW!
