370z has overheating issues on road courses
I world do an oil cooler first than monitor things carefuly and consider a radiator as well. If things are really bad, Nissan might add an oil cooler on later production models, like what BMW had to on their turbo 3 series.
So the oil temp issues are worse than I thought. We have gotten the oil really hot simply dyno testing, mountain road driving and bumper to bumper traffic.
I did an oil cooler test and wrote about why we think the oil gets so hot on three seventy z dot com, go there and you can read the details.

It seems now proven that you should wait till the 2-3 year for Nissan sports cars.

The only reason that many people even notice the oil temp is that the car goes into a limp mode when the oil gets hot. Thats actualy a cool safeguard for the engine if you think about it. Most other cars simply get hot oil and damage the engine.
good find, but sad that some people are digging up whatever they can negative on the 370 to prove something ... little mods and the car will be track ready for whatever u wanna throw at it.. the 370>350 get used to it
do we really need to start a list of problems with the 350?...jesus solo like i said get used to change there are bugs to be worked out just like the 350's in the early years, give it a rest who are u trying to prove anything to

whats the big deal? Just get some upgraded cooling parts and you'll be set. I dont think it will be too expensive for most people to do. The 370z isnt exactly the only new car to have this problem. 335i's have this issue as well. I think nissan could probably upgrade the cooling stuff from the factory...but after seeing the whole warranty void stuff with the GTR, it doenst seem like that will happen.
Wow this post was posted a long time ago when the 370z was being tested. Now you guys are crying because the 370z has a overheating problem on the track like the G37? It's called a discussion.
Quit your crying.
Quit your crying.
But the 370z overheating is not normal and should not happen period. The car is even getting too hot in traffic. The problem needs to be resolved. I don't consider the car going in safe mode a safe thing as the car shouldn't do it in the first place.
Shall I recommend you back down a bit from your name calling as the forum rules says so.
Sheesh, just add an oil cooler! I own a 2004 G35 Coupe and had a Stillen oil cooler installed just for peace of mind, even though I don't even track the car, because I live in Florida and it gets hotter than hell down here and I have to drive in a lot of stop and go traffic during my commute.
