Hi 350GT,
I just signed on the dotted line for mine tonight. Base 370Z Sport, floor and trunk mats, invoice was $31595 including dest, MSRP $33895 (approx). Got it out the door for $31080 + $100 doc fee. And this was for a car that wasn't even sitting on their lot (was at another dealer). This is not including my 5% sales tax which I still have to pay at the registry.
Just tell them that you've talked to other dealers that will do it cheaper but you'd rather deal local. That's what I did and it worked like a charm.

I paid $33,785 (b4 TTL) a few weeks ago for a White Touring Automatic w/Floor mats and trunk mats. Added the factory spoiler a week later. I used the VPP program which means this was a no haggle price.

One dealership in so. cal wanted $34,000 out-the-door for a new 2010 silver base w/ sports package, floor/trunk mats, illuminated kick panels. The next one I went to wanted $34,200 for a similar one.
I'm having trouble negotiating and getting them to play with me. The number in my head is $30-31k out-the-door. Am I reasonable? They want to sell, I want to buy.
This is also my first time buying a brand new car and I have enough cash to buy it outright.

An alternative is to use the VPP program which will get you the car at just below invoice (pre-tax) when all things are said and done. You actually get the car for $1500 below invoice but other fees are added back in. The current VPP program offer is running until Jan 2nd.

a. Find the 370Z that you want.
b. Figure the maximum that you are willing to pay.
c. Visit the dealer and make your offer. Stick with the offer.
