Why are you ignoring the question about what mods you have?

 

I love the way the 370z looks. At first when i saw it, i was a little bit mad at how "short" it apeared and it kept making me think of a honda s2000 (wich i DO NOT LIKE ITS LOOKS OR SIZE). So it rubbed me the wrong way.

For me peronaly looks are important in a car, i do not want to spend 3x,xxx on a ugly car.

But i agree if you think 350z looks better than a 370z, you should defintly get a 350z.

o btw i race everyone(the twin turbo 300 and the c6) again last night except the 370z (he doesnt come around anymore).
i beat the 300zx(running aftermarket boost) easily but me and the vette are side by side now. he installed long tubes and they sound sick! love that car

 

I'll assume the 300 has stock turbos, but do you know what the "aftermarket boost" was set to? Many stock-turbod 300s run mid 350rwhp, and run high 11s to low 12s at 110-115mph, which we know an N/A 350Z can not do - not even close.

woa....since when do stock 300z make 350 wheel hp. my friends 300z tt has a full exhaust and test pipes and i think an intake and hes hit low 300 something hp with 11-12 lbs boost. stock is 8lbs fyi
i know the 300 can make tons of power. we have 4 300z making excess of 500+ hp but thats with aftermarket turbos. u need serious work on the turbos to make anything past 310hp on the 300's.
(i mean its possible but why not do it the easy way... right?)

 

So, your "weight reduced" and exhaust only HR is evenly matched up against an LS2 Vette (which dyno's around 340 stock)?

Just finding it hard to believe that your HR, which only has an exhaust upgrade and reportedly 200# weight reduction is able to keep up with a vehicle, that stock, has 400bhp/400tq. However; I'm confused, first you stated it was a C5, now it's a C6?

Your friend has to be the crappiest driver in history for you to be able to beat him. There is no way on God's green earth that your vehicle, with the mods listed can even remotely keep up with a stock C6. You would be extremely hard pressed to keep up with a stock C5, even.

Simple physics...

I love when guys claim their car is faster than times in the magazines test them but forget that if the mag drivers are slow, they would be slow for all the cars they drive, just not a 350Z etc.

 

I think the 370 has a lot of potential (looks wise) as evidenced by the Nismo 370. I can't wait to see that one in person

^^^ let me put it another way; no matter how much you want to dream about it, a 350Z is not as fast as a C6 (by adding an exhaust which is less than a 15hp mod). Likewise, a Honda civic Si (that runs about a second slowers or 0-60 in 6.7 secs) is not as fast as a 350Z. All you have to do is compare the power to weight ratio to know it is impossible. If you beat a C6 in a race it simply means you drove against a guy that does not have a clue about how to drive & he could have been in any car & lose.

I like 350Z's, driven & tested many from stock to ones with TT turbos on them. I prefer the way they feel while driving (steering feel) compared to the numb feel of the C6, but to claim 350Z that runs a second slower than a C6 (0-60 in about 4.1 secs) can beat the C6 is wishful thinking. Now if you got a turbo on yours & are running 6-7 psi, then you got a race on your hands compared to a C6. Trust me, there is no comparision between a 350Z with an exhaust & a 350Z with a TT. Likewise, same goes comparing a 350Z with an exhaust & a C6.

If you did beat a guy in a C6, brag about how much better your driving skills were than his but do not imply your car is as quick. This is the kind of stuff that is posted on other car forums that shames us.
