370Z TOURING NISMO 370Z
Manual transmission 3,232 3,278 3,300
Automatic transmission 3,269 3,314 N/A

These are the actual weights of the cars

Now there are several other factors that can contribute to the change of the weight

The car holds 19 gallons of gas at ruffly 6lbs a gallon that is 114lbs if you have only a 1/4 tanks when you weigh your car that is taking 70lbs out of the car

Also the weight of the driver can come into play also if you are tracking your car and need to make it more balanced

Again it was proven on the 370z forum that Nissan's numbers were not correct as people have weighed their cars.

From the this thread:
https://my350z.com/forum/2009-370z/4...car-build.html

"We are sitting right now at just over 3300lbs with a full tank of fuel"

Actual weight on scale was 3323

Given a full tank of fuel weighs 114 lbs.
3323
-114
-----
3209 dry curb weight
..or lighter than the actually claimed 3232 (and that is w/o the sports package this car actually had). I'm assuming that the tank wasn't quite full.

So it weighs the same as my NISMO did at 3/4 of a tank of fuel. And my NISMO is heavy.

so 3300 pounds makes your nimso heavy but a base around 3250 or so is light?

I seriously doubt a base will drop that much weight over a Sport. C&D weighed a base w/sport and it was 3350. So explain that and the others that weighed their cars around 3350?

The car is not lighter, it is on par with the 350z later years. The early 350z years were lighter.

Many reviewer cars were given an oil cooler and such which will add weight, which was removed for final production.

A oil cooler does not add that much weight.

Which is a huge FAIL. And for the Z34 NISMO to not come with one is reason enough to look at a different car. I was hot-n-heavy for a Z34 NISMO, but no OC and the standard VLSD for $40k - seriously? So you get nice seats, a marginally better suspension, and 150# of downforce for $8k over a new Z34? No thank you.

10 pounds (maybe more) is still 10 pounds.

Which I agree with, them to forget that cooler really turned a lot of people off. But by doing it they can now void your warranty for tracking your car and just say, "Well no oil cooler, so we did not intend it for track use," which is complete BS considering all the extra items added which contribute to a track car.

The guy on the "other" board got a weight of 3323 with a claimed 3/4 tank of gas. After subtracting gas weight , that leaves 3238 and he has the sport package. I've read the sports package adds between 40 and 50 lbs but haven't seen anyone figure out how to actually weigh it. Seems Nissan's weight claims are a bit high if anything.

Weight factors of the sports package would be:
~Bigger wheels/tires (though the Rays are only 24 and 26 pounds)
~Rear spoiler
Everything else will be minor, but might add up to 10-15 pounds total for the other electronics and brakes.

Cars are usually weighed with a full tank of gas. So if you empty my tank then my car would be in the 3100-3200 lb range right?

An actual Nissan doc claimed somewhere around 46 lbs I believe. I have no reason to doubt them. I doubt they would oversell the weight.

Yeah, but the 03-05's only had like 200hp.

The 07-08 HR has like 600hp and can rip 12" diameter trees out of the ground, all while saving the ozone layer and curing cancer. The Nismo trim adds the ability to solve world hunger and being able to carve corners like an F1 car.

I mean sure the 370Z is lighter, wider, and more powerful... but it can't defy physics like the 350Z HR can.

I've always heard official weights are with empty tank but don't have any reference to it. Either way, I'd assume Nissan has done it the same way with both the 350Z and the 370Z.

03-05 Z's have great weight but weak engine

06-08 Z's have better engines but lot's of weight

09 Z' weight falls in between in weight, has better power, but you have to live with "fangs".

I drove a 370 with Sport package and nearly-full tank of gas on the same scales that I use. I was surprised when it read 3380#. It was completely stock at the time.

Wow you are making a big deal out of nothing at all nissan only said they made it lighter and they did.....they did not however specify how much weight they actually removed

It is lighter and that is that..... they removed somewere around 150lbs of weight which is right because the 370Z 3250 give or take compaired to 3400 of a touring 350z

370Z is a better car end of thread.
