The 370z is at a disadvantage power wise even though it is lighter in weight but the AWD drivetrain in the audi vs. 370z rwd makes up for that. If both these cars race, guess who the winner would be?
Sorry to burst your bubble, but torque accelerates a car in conjunction with horsepower. Eventually, a motor reaches peak torque in which horsepower becomes your primary driving force and is necessary to keep hauling you along, meanwhile torque falls off (have you ever even looked at a dyno?).

A Honda S2000 has the torque of a pea-shooter, but it can hang with a stock 350Z because its power-to-weight ratio is close enough. Assuming two cars with the same weights: one car has 250HP and 220TQ (more HP) and another 250TQ and 220HP (more torque), in a race the high-torque car will snap off the line quicker, but when torque is no longer necessary (higher rev range) the higher horsepower car will pass the torquier car all the way until the finish.

You should do a little more learning than teaching.

Also: All of that extra 55lbs of torque the Audi has is wasted on having to haul an extra 600lbs off the line on top of having to spin 4 wheels, instead of 2. Once again, power-to-weight is squarely in Nissan's advantage. That's not even arguable.

My friend's S5 (completely stock) made 310whp on a Mustang Dyno. The dyno was setup to read a little lower than a Dynojet. Tuner said it would make around 320whp on a DJ.

I made 270whp on a Dyno Jet and he still can't beat me.

I leave Shizzmaster with this: stock Z vs. modded Mustang GT

Power.
Weight.

Haha, there you go. I own an A6 4.2 (pretty much the same engine as the S5's) so I spend a lot of time on Audi forums too. A lot of the guys there complain about: 1) Weight, 2) Not enough torque to move weight more briskly, 3) Low dynos.

my fault for posting the wrong video xD was posted on my cellphone and was at work so couldnt check which video it was. there is another video of the same 2 cars with the same passengers and same mods as listed above. btw the exhausts on s5's gain almost no power just about as much as a exhaust on a DE for reference sake, and 90% of s5 owners will say that the posted power gains are just fluctuations/exaggerations by the tuning companies. also the downpipes do not remove the catalytic converters as no one knows how to remove them without removing the motor, which i think is where there is actually some power to be made.

regardless this video wasnt posted as proof of anything. i just figured Z owners will have a better idea of how they match up against G's cause of it being in the same family. that is all, just a video so people can get the general idea and come up with their own decisions. personally im the kind of guy that doesn't give a hoot whats online until i do it myself... who cares if the internet says a 370z loses to or beats XXXX car unless you can do it yourself, or have experienced it yourself?

Default only thing I did not like

The cabin was quite noisy. I would defiantly add lots of Dynamat and dense foam padding.
The guy racing the G and S5 looks like one of the Long Island parkways

To answer your question, I'm not much of a drag-track guy, I prefer a course. But I am loving my car a whole lot.

Yep. Almost certain that's the Cross Island heading towards the bridge. Looks like water on the right.

yah the 2 guys are driving on the LIE or some other NYC highway. well i consider both cars basically stock xD but thats all personal opinion. but!!!! like i said this video isnt to prove anything, just i think a better ummmm starting point for people to make their own decisions.

arnold yah i dont really like drag racing but its kinda fun ^^ i used to go once maybe twice a year. regardless im gonna hound you to go when spring rolls around. i think drag racing in stock form will help you learn the car a bit more. im gonna drag you out there even if i have to sling you over my back and tow your car there!!! xD just messing but tihnk about it. will be fun. if its really bad, we wont report our times back to the community hehe

The guy in the g37 filming is pretty darn annoying. And he practically jizzes over the s5 being "fn fast bro". I'd hate to hear him when seeing a real "fast" car accelerate.

S5 is a beautiful car and so is the 370z. It's a drivers race in a straight line.

I'm about to check dragtimes to see what the s5s get on average...

Quick Reply: Test drove E92 M3, Audi S5, and 370Z. Likely trading in 350Z for 370Z.
