Couple things...I went with Val when they did this at RPR (formerly HRP). And I watched the thread when they were looking for someone to fill the 350Z / 370Z spot on the show. Alot of the Z side of the competition was rushed. I think they had someone backout or maybe started the search late....anyways, Val volunteered as a rep for the forum knowing full well he was the underdog and lacked the same power as the new 5.0.
Knowingly going into a competition where you have the disadvantage shows character. Val was a good sport, still maintained confidence with zero track time, and repped the forums well. Best part was it was still fun.
Things get better with time. I'm sure forum wars takes notes of what they could have done better. I think, with a little work, it'd be a good TV show. More time to prep will find better matched rivals in the future....
98gt had some seat time at RPR in the 5.0 a few days before. Remember him saying he hit 11s on slicks or DRs.
Oh and I have some videos from that day. Val, it is safe to make them public?

Yup, knew this was going to happen. I mean come on, we had a 8 year old car with 240hp going against a 2011 400 hp mustang. Yes, Val was a novice driver but even a track guru wouldn't have beat that stang in the 1/4 mile (the slalom and autox however.....) but that's here nor there. Val had the ***** to step up (which he did) and I think he represented the forum with class. Not to mention he looked damn good doing it
, (no homo, car looks sweet) LOL. Good job Val.

Thanks Rob. Thanks for going with me homie.
Let's leave the vids private, for other reasons not related to the race.

I just saw the vid. They should one nasty little side-to-side slide I did on the slalom at the end of the video. So much fun!
Thanks buddy. I tried.
They kept trying to get me to talk smack, but I wouldn't. Not my style.
BTW, I just looked at some of the comments on Youtube. Pretty harsh. One thing the producers did which made me look a bit bad was the comments about the exhaust, wheels, and intake. I was basically asked a ton of questions, and I believe these 3 answers were what they chose to edit into one complete sentence. It sounded kind of bad, but it is what it is. I was going to reply to the Youtube video, but didn't feel like registering. Oh well...

aite, they'll stay private, sorry folks.
The one time I put down the camera after capturing nothing while waiting for some of the other cars to go...and I miss that. lol. Had that been a drift competition on that one run, you would've won. lol :P
Yeah the epic slide at the slalom was crazy..I hope it makes the extra videos they post up.
Oldschool..anyway you could maybe edit the certain stuff that doesn't need to be shown and show my vehicle if you got any? haha this is the first time I have seen videos of me driving so I like seeing how bad I did

Thumbs up Val!!!
You did a great job representing us. Forum Wars fail again lol.. how hard is it too put 2 cars together under the same category. LOL... you gotta be retarded not to be able to do it....

well for starters they came looking for a 370z in a region specific event .. in the general 350z forum on here. they might have had more success if they put half an effort into finding a 370z. I had to help them recruit by reposting their thread in other sections.
val .. well, your car looks good. it looks like it has a decent amount of body roll, and in the slalom, you should probably accelerate after you are out of the cones. : )
I'm still glad you represented the forum - you have class. you didn't bust out any excuses and make us look like a doucheforum like last year.

The editing really did an injustice to Vo IMO. Cool guy that came out there to run his car, when nobody else stepped up. D98GT's car had springs and cold air that day, but Vo never stooped down to being a whiner. Cool guy that deserves respect.
I remember a fully built, turbo car with a race experienced driver with tires from here, that they rejected. The 5.0 was on factory crappy tires. Eitherway, it wasn't much of a fair fight. I probably wouldn't have been as courtious and willing to step up as Vo was. Hats off to him for taking up the challenge. He did a good job representing the forum, regardless of times, but as a person at the track.
Just an FYI. There was not much time notice on this event. They asked me to run the ACR Viper, but I didn't have a clutch that I could even go WOT with in the 1/4 or probably road race. Any of these competitors deserve a hats off. Good job guys. Hopefully, some of you all in Houston and surrounding area will roll out with us to the Texas Mile. We set up at the 1 mile mark down track with our pit and have a beer, tequila, and have a great time.

but you were also up against a weaker mooostang....
That newer one ain't no punk
Good job though VO.
I honestly don't know what they really expected running an 03 against an 11. Oh well, it is what it is....
Next time 370 vs 5.0?
