Default Back in the Z

Traded in my 2005 350z 6-MT Touring 15 months ago for, well, a Rogue. Gave that POS back two days ago and got into a base 370Z. Black on black, 6speed. No mods yet. Love the car. Felt like putting on an old pair of comfortable shoes. Havent goosed it yet, only have 67 miles on the clock but it feels VERY VERY similar to my old 350z. Thats a good thing. This car is DEFINITELY faster, you can just feel its not even working when youre daily driving. The ride is MUCH MUCH better. Quieter, a bit softer. The interior, despite this being a base model is still much better than my old Touring. The cabin is huge!! Im 5'9', never had an issue with driver space in my 05' but the cabin is massive. My wife was sitting Indian style using her laptop, eating a salad and had two water bottles on the seat with her as Im putzing around Sanibel Island. Kinda funny to see actually. The one glaring performance feature I love is the handling. This thing grips like a gorilla. All in all, love the car.

Thank you, feels good getting back in the drivers seat of a new Z. Ill get some pics when i have time, its just a base, nothing fancy. The LED running lights are cool though and the simple one-click window operation is convenient too.

Sorry, cell phone pics.

oh, can anyone tell me how to open the trunk with the remote? Is it even possible? I looked at the manual and got bored, lol.

^^ Good question, I haven't tried that. First thing I did was roll down both windows by holding the unlock button . The salesman looked at me like I was a giant nerd. I didn't need his validation, f&*k him.

Nice upgrade! As for opening the hatch with the remote -- there is no way (unless you put in an interior switch or upgrade your key fob).

No way, I THOUGHT I read something in the manual about remote operation, I was so tired though I wasnt sure what it was stating, lol. Thank you though. I just cant getover the interior compared to my 05, even the base model, stiching, no tacky LOOKING plastics. And the ride is just so smoothe compared to my 05. Not bashing the 350Z, its actually BETTER in a number of ways. The 370 is definitely an evolution of the 350 though.

The more I drive it the more I love it. Have about 450 miles on the odometer, goosed it third gear. Sweet pull, much better than my 05. 3rd seemed to dog in that 05. Mid-range is nice in the 370Z.

500 miles in, normal driving (ok i saw 5500 RPM twice), im averaging 26.2MPG, thats 70% city stuff too. Is VQ37 really that efficient? If i babied my old 05 id get 25-maybe 26, and i mean granny shifting.

Welcome to the dark side, or so it seems. After having 2 350z and moving to my 370 touring sport with nav there is no looking back... just no comparison! I still love the 350z for what it is, but the comparison is just as you described. I love mine. My favorite car I've owned in the past 16 years of driving! Congrats!
