Default Did 155mph on Sunday. It was AWESOME!

It was a beautiful day on Sunday here in Germany. I was going to go for one last blast on the autobahn before I went to wash the car. (Driving on the autobahn at 100+ mph = lots of dead bugs.) I had the convertible top up, came up on the on-ramp, saw the sign that indicates "no-limit", dropped it down to 3rd gear, and ran thru all gears. To my surprise I ran out of rpm in 5th gear and had to switch to 6th gear. Accelerating from 145 to 155 mph seemed to take a while. It was so much fun and so dangerous itÃÔ hard to believe its 100% legal. I know there are faster cars traversing the autobahn but it was kicka$$ to pop my cars cherry so to speak here in Germany. The adrenaline rush made my right leg shake a bit afterwards. Cheers!

155mph must be awasome! the fastest I did was 146mph, and it was a rush! your hands are tight holding the steerling wheel, and your eyes are glued to the road since you hope nothing happens when you are that fast

Awsume! That would put my butt in jail here. I've gone 140+ on a crotch rocket, very windy! How far would you say it took to reach speed? Tell me everything.

Going 140 on a motorcycle takes more guts than I have. When I had a motorcycle and lived in Texas the most I could brave was 90 mph. "Tell you everything", you say. Well the wind noise was crazy and I was nervous that the convertible top was going to catch some small pocket of air and rip clean off. I was passing cars pretty fast but when they are averaging 90 to 110 mph its not quite the "whoosh" as when passing people in the states going 60 to 70. The engine was pulling about 5200 rpm in 6th gear because 5th gear ran out of rpm at 142 mph. For anyone to drive that speed they must recognize that a tire blow would be deadly or very difficult to control to say the least. Anyone had a blowout at 130 mph? Just curious. At 150... my voice starts to say, "hey d!psh!t, your wife is pregnant with your 1st child why are you going so fast?" The biggest problem was that once you hit 6th gear it takes seemingly forever to go from 140's to 155 mph. When I owned my "rattle-box" 97' trans-am I could leave it in 5th gear and top it out at 159 mph. More hp in my 350z would cure that of course...

5th gear maxes out out 146mph, I've done 158mph and would like to do the whole speedometer but too scared. That day I done 158mph, I had pass two state troops and of course I had to get away or lose my car. What mods. do you have on your car? I'll tell you now if you change your stock air box with the JWT popcharger you can pass the speed-limiter on your car, I did. That day I did 158mph, my car climbed awhole lot faster to 150mph than with the stock air box.

No modifications. Also I thought the speed was limited to 155 mph and anything over the computer pulls the gas. Unless of course your going down hill then perhaps you could get a few mph over. I was in a rented Audi A3 here in germany and it said its max was 235 kph but I managed to get it to 240 kph (144 mph). It was a freaking diesel too it was hilarious how loud that engine was trying to get to that speed. hehe

That's freaking cool, I was in germany in OCT due to the fact I have family Vilseck and had a freaking blast in Neunberg with my cousins. One of my cousins over there owns a A6 3.0TDI. That thing is a better damn impressive sedan to be four-wheel drive sitting at about 250hp.

Wow. Very exciting. You were wise to calm yourself. Sometimes we just get a wild hair and go go go! I to have an ZR good to hear the top will stay on. It's wild when you are speeding along like that and you start to think about the mechanics of the car. You were becoming "one" you felt her under you and your fear was adrenaline, you were pumped man! Is that cool or what?

The speedo overreads slightly; the digital less than the analogue. At an indicated 157 on an unrestricted track; gps speed check confirms an actual speed of 152.

thats it, im moving to Germany...

I am a speed addict... but after the last ticket I got here in MD, on 10, going towards Ritchie Highway, getting pulled over by an unmarked Dodge Intrepid, and getting a $525 ticket for going 97 in a 55....ehhh..

But the fastest Ive gone was in Cincinnati, they just fixed the I-275, and its like 4 lanes..perfect pavement, slight turns here and there, and no cars at like 3 am...was going 153 for like 5-7 minutes...

It was ORGASMIC!

I dropped the speed to 65, was happy...smiling...smoking a cig, and enjoying the rest of my trip

The fact is that the porsche I want would cost $1400 per month which is fine but I would not make any headway on paying of my student loans and credit card debt. Maybe next year... 2006 Porsche Carerra S.

I took my Z up to 150mph once, it was a rush and DID take a while to get up there.

I did not take my bike that long to get up to 150mph though NEVER Again though, not worth the risk even though it's a rush like no other.
