Post POLL: Raggtopp vs 303

OK ladies and gentlemen, I've done some reading and found that some prefer 303 and other's raggtopp for protecting their roadster tops. Now we can all come to an accord that we need to purchase the one specifically for canvas/cloth/fabric and NOT the one for vinyl.

Please post any stories, comments, or religious preference to either product. I beleive somebody mentioned that 303 doesn't leave marks where application was uneven, as opposed to raggtopp which does leave some kind of over concentration marks.

The bottle recommends two coats but I have NEVER put more than one coat on any of my cars and the product works great. I have also used the RaggTop products but found they can leave spots on your top if applied too heavy??? Anyway, whichever product you choose, here's a little helpful hint.
Any stories, tips on application, etc? I figure I should put news paper on the paint and windsheilds to make sure none of this protectant goes where it isn't supposed to. Do any of these products mess up my paint job or leave some nasty/gunky residue?

Just get your top replaced every six months or so.

The top is made of a cloth-like vinyl material. I originally used raggtop for cloth tops, then switched to the vinyl protectant. Top looks much better (darker & more shine) using the vinyl protectant.

As Xtazee said, the top is vinyl.
I use Raggtop for VINYL. Works good. Does not leave any uneven marks when it's dry.

Oh BTW, I paint the Raggtop stuff on the top using a paint brush. No messy spray.

How do you do that? Do you spray a whole $h!t load onto a paint brush, then pass the paint brush over the surface of the roof?

From the sounds of it, next poll will be Raggtop vinyl vs Raggtop cloth.

ThankZ for the tips and replies my fellow roadsters,

I pour some on the top, then use the brush to spread it around. Repeat for the whole top. Do the vertical areas 1st (by the rear window) by pouring some on the top above it and get the brush wet.

I could have sworn that the protectant was an aerosol can? If it isn't than it sounds like it is just as easy as unsrewing the top and like you said "pour some on top".

ThankZ for the 411,

Different packaging? I got mine with liquid in a bottle, no spray head or anything. Just as well, don't have to deal with over sprays.
