Default Lotus Elise

some one offer me $30,000 for my 350Z black touring Roadster, it has a around $4000 worth of stereo equitment a pop charger etc.. I was thinking about buying a 2005 Elise for 42k I still owe 25K on my car but if I put 7K down on the Elise I can finance the 35k and keep my current montly payments I will just start all over again.

So what should I do? technically for 2k I can get an Elise...

I don't want to rain on your parade but you can get a bran new 06 Track for 30k. You may have to drop your price a bit.

He's talking about a Roadster not a Coupe... Touring Roadster goes for $38k where as a Touring Coupe goes for about 6k less. So you really can't compare the prices of a coupe to a roadster. Also Track Coupes sell for 34k, maybe if your lucky you can find a dealership willing to sell 1 at 30k but doubtfull many dealerships would.

FWIW ... 'Topless' is typically a $5-7k add depending on the market.

WoW that's a big loan for just a car... From a financial point of view, if you can't put atleast 30% down on a car your probably buying a car you really can't afford... Personaly 15k is the most Im willing to take out on a car loan, that way I can pay it off fast.

But I guess if your single and can move back in with your parents if things don't work out then go for it...

If you like to squeeze into a car, get a lotus.

Just read a new issue of road and track and they pretty much say the engine suck " which they use honda " enging instead. And this reviews is done on an Exige which is better than Elise. But again if you like track car for road use, then go for it.

My real life example is that a guy i know got one, he called "James Bond's car", and about 2 months of owning it...drive it like once or twice a week. He sold it...don't ask why.

Think what he meant was that he paid 36k for roadster plus 4k for sterreo for a total of 40k...The Elise is 42k so he's saying that for 2k more he can have a elise and be in the same situation he was in when he bought the 350z roadster new (loan amount)..

i really like the elise and would like to buy one. Its really a lot different of a car then the Z though. The elise is really light with a lot less torque, rides a lot stiffer, and has even less room. The Z is torquey, but heavier and has a nice soft ride. Its your call as to what u want more!

Test drive the Elise before making the decision. The Elise is a dedicated track car which has been legalized for street use.

If you drive a lot you may find the interior and ride a bit annoying. But from a performance standpoint the Elise is hardcore given that it weighs like 1400 pounds less than a ZR. The power to weight of this car hovers around 10.

search autotrader on line and you'll find a whole bunch of low mileage elise selling for under 39K.
