Unhappy Roadster top motor

My convertible motor(s) have slowed to the point of not latching when retracted. I'm physically having to get out of my car and put all my weight into latching those damn things.
It's not the temp affecting it. It doesn't latch in any weather.
My dealer informs me that my top warranty lapsed as of the 5th of Jan. (yes, '07). My roadster is an '04, but with only 28k miles.
Anyone know what I can do? I don't want to dish out $1400 (parts only).

daZgirl,

Sorry to hear that. I was looking at the Perf. Nissan parts replacement. The parts are ridiculus expensive.

I am not keeping the car after warranty thats for sure.
