Premiun Gas Price
Wife and I went grocery shoping tonight at HyVee in our area and the sign said "Buy $80.00 worth of groceries and get 40 cents a gal. off. Premium is $1.59 9/10 so that put it down to $1.19 9/10 a gal. and unleaded down to 99 9/10 a gal. The last time I saw gas this cheap was in the 70's. I can remember that gas was 6 cents a gal. when I was a kid.

Summer of '99 I was buying gas at $0.99/gallon for regular unleaded.
I remember, because I was driving 50 miles each way to an internship in my final year of college, and I was driving a '73 Dodge.
And half those miles were through some steep mountain passes.
I was filling the tank up every day.

I drove from St. Louis to Kansas City yesterday and some Quik Trip stations just east of KC on I-70 were $1.35 for regular unleaded.
When I got home in South KC, I filled up at a nearby QT and paid $1.39.9 for regular unleaded.
I'm a traveling salesman and if you'd like to see how much gas has dropped, look here. http://www.fuelly.com/driver/dancon5...ger/log/page/1. This goes back to April 12.

Not too many people use 91/93, so they don't make it (or replace it) as often. I think that's why it can be as much as $0.40 higher than regular 87 at times -- especially when they lower the price on 87 2x per week. Still, finding 91/93 at less than $2.00 seems to be a good deal.
Let's see how long this lasts, now that OPEC will starting to cut back on production.

Wholesale prices are jumping up this week...I still bought premium for 1.75 at a local Exxon, back into the 1.90's at other places. Time to keep the tank full.
