Thanks! *S* I was interested, because I had been told how difficult they were to find, but I didn't want a car I didn't custom order to my specs.....I had one of the first off the line, got mine in Aug. and it's black on black! (I'm a black car kind of gal, but do admit it's the pits in the winter.)

Sounds like the coasts are giving better deals than the midwest. I bought a '03 coupe in august (Dayton OH) - went to six different dealers preapproved through Nissan financing and still couldn't get a test drive even after I told them if I had a decent deal I would have bought that day. No call backs or anything. Finally bought a SS Enthusiest coupe at sticker in Cincinnati.

Even in San Diego, I received grief about test driving the Z. The salesman told me that he could let me take out a used 2003 coupe but the managers didn't want any of the 04's or the roadsters being test driven. Funny thing was that this guy introduces me to their leasing manager for some reason and the first question out of his mouth was "Did you take the roadster for a test drive?" '

I replied "No, I was told I wasn't allowed." Naturally, a look passed between manager and salesguy and I was behind the wheel of a roadster in minutes.

The saddest part is that I told the salesguy exactly how I wanted the ZR stocked and he told me that instead of taking a deposit he would call me if one came along. After not hearing from him for a week, I placed an order with another salesman. If you can't see the sale when it's right in front of you, how do you make any money?

That I wouldn't know

My dealer let me drive the a new coupe he had in stock, no problem (it was a stick, but still gave me a sense of the car). Mine is an 04 Roadster Convertible, the only thing I didn't have on it was 18" wheels (all the better to hydroplane with) and the navigator option. Unfortunately, due to unmitigated circumstances I have not been able to take it on a road trip yet!!

I didn't have any problems with my purchase. I cannot understand why ANY dealer would not want a sale!

Default Any dealers taking less than MSRP?

Now that the car has been out a few months, are any dealers willing to deal?

I tried to put a deposit down at one of the local dealers and the sales manager wouldn't budge off MSRP. He even went as far to say that he didn't want my business even though I am a repeat customer.

I would love to hear if any of you were able to get a deal.

Thanks!

well I know my dealer is getting two in...an orange and a silver convertible...however with the demand, and the lack of inventory, I think that below MSRP isn't going to happen.
e-mail me and I"ll give you the info of the dealership if you wish to contact them....I paid their price and they were considerably lower then some of the ones I have heard about in this room! *S*

Default hey Doodz

Ancira Nissan in San Antonio will do $500 under MSRP on Roadsters. I ordered one back in Nov and they would do the same thing with whats on the lot.

Thanks to Mr. Potato Head for my heads up.

Default fleet dept.

I managed to get into my 04 roadster through the fleet dept. I paid substantially less than sticker.

I did buy the car the last monday before Christmas which is heralded as the best day of the year to buy a new car.

I tried first to negotiate with the salesteam who only were willing to go 505 under sticker. The fleet dept. contacted me a few days later with a much better deal.

Default just found a 350ZR Touring 6spd $35k

I've called ten dealerships and found a couple of dealers willing to work with me.

The best deal I have found is:

35k for a 2004 350ZR Touring w/ 6spd and 18" wheels

I've read that they have $670 in holdback so I kept pushing until someone said yes to $35k.

Someone tell me that this is a good deal ... if not I'll keep pushing.

The convertibles aren't selling like the hard tops. We have about 10 convert's on the lot and not a hard top to be found. I've heard we now give a no hastle $500.00 off MSRP.

Mossy Nissan has 75 Z's on the lot and every one of them is now 1k under invoice. Naturally, they still don't have one to my specs yet....
