newly purchased 2006 350z oil concern
Hello All,
I just purchased a "dealer certified" 2006 350Z convertible with just 32K miles on it. I was not too concerned that when I got it home I had to top off about 1/4 quart of oil-synthetic of course-. I drove it fairly hard last weekend and tonight I checked oil again (albeit cold) and it was down another 1/4 quart after only 400 miles. I did my homework about this year and consumer reports rated it very highly for reliability. Since then I have read some disturbing blogs about the 6 speed 2006 oil problems. Should I worry or just chill out? Most cars with 32K don't use any oil if they have been broken in properly and have been maintained. This uses more oil than my 97 BMW M3 which had 145K miles on it. The good news is I got a good deal on the extended factory warranty for full coverage until 2014. Any opinions? I am I just paranoid? Maybe I should have purchased the 2006 Porsche Cayman S I was considering but decided against due to reliablity problems
THANKS for any opinions

Only time will tell here. You should feel pretty good considering you're covered under warranty.
You can stop by the Nissan dealer and they can start a oil consumption test.
And congrats on the purchase.

just take it in and get a new motor for peace of mind!!!
true not all rev-ups burn oil... and not all first owners do proper break in...
A Boxter??? really... not even a comparison... to quote top gear "the porsche boxter, shows every one your life didn't quite turn out how you wanted it to" _Jeremy Clarkson
