Default 2006 350 z Roadster hesitates off the line

My 2006 Roadster hesitates off the line, darn near dies then farts and takes off. A rolling start from say 10 mph is much much better. Any ideas on what would cause this? It is my wife's car and only has 13k miles. Also nismo cat back and cold air. Thanks.

just need a little more info..is it standard or automatic? are we talking about "launching" the car, or do you mean just when your trying to casually take off from a stop?

How dirty is your air filter? Have you seen rain lately?

It is Automatic. The hesitation happens from a dead stop. Even when it is not a full "launch". Once you get up to 10 - 15 mph you can punch it and all is fine.

Thanks

I have a cold air intake . The filter comes out behind the front left wheel. Nissan dealer says no way it's dirty after only 13,000 miles; but I dunno... it's a hassle to change; do you think it would be a smart thing to check?

I thought maybe if its manual, you just don't know how to drive and trying to launch from 6th gear (bawler). But being automatic, does your wife have a habit of revving high rpm and dropping from N to D by any chance to show off in front of other moms? I'd say if your filter is way in there, standing still or going fast wont make much difference on airflow. Check your filter anyway.
Fuel injectors,
spark plugs
tranny.
How often does it happen? Don't take it to nissan dealer, just call a local shop with good reviews that works on cars, explain to them. Some of those guys that are just self-owned are pros, they'll be able to suggest some good stuff.

Take it to the dealer.. its under warranty correct? Also, put the stock intake in the car.

My 04 ZR started doing this about 2 weeks after I bought it.

And I hate to tell you this, but meant my clutch was toast and needed to be replaced.
