Default Need convertible top replacement advise.

I have an 07 zr and I got a rip in my top. So now I am searching for the best option for a long lasting replacement.

From what I have gathered so far:
Robbins Autotop part no 10-20-350-003 Stayfast seems popular at $725

Ez On Auto Tops WH689 Stayfast cheaper but has plastic window seal
$522 on ebay Autotops_store

I do have a few installers in my area of Atlanta so what is a good average price for installation?

Any thoughts or advise?

I don't know if this helps you or not but I'm getting a new top for 1490 including installation and a 3 year warranty from a shop here in Oklahoma. Not really helpful but it's a comparison.

I looked for someone who parts out collision vehicles. I found a wrecked 350Z roadster and bought the used top outright. (Frame, bow motors and all as an assembly) for $500. It took about 45 minutes to swap top assemblies.

If you're thinking of reskining the top, it's a hellova job.

How does it work now? Any issues with the replacement top/cage/motors etc? I never thought to do that. That's some good advice.

I did it over 2 years ago and no issues at all.

Here's the thread where I did it.

I talked to a couple upholstery shops and they were about $400 for the install. So it should be around $922 for a new top installed with Stayfast cloth instead of vinyl.

I wonder If the motorized design has changed over the years or not - sure would be nice to score a complete top from a wrecked 08 (or even an 09) so the chances of the bow motors being bad are lessened.

Seems like any mechanical work needed on these tops cost a small fortune out of warranty.

When I replace my top, I will go the same route at Phreakdout. What he did was smart, efficient, and affordable.
