Default Exhaust smell

I'm on my 2nd roadster. Put a lot of miles on the first one. Was an 04 touring.

Now, I'm in a 07 gt and I have strong exhaust smell during and after full throttle acceleration.

I hear no exhaust leaks.

Under the car there is no dents on anything.

The car has been taken care of.

My 04 did not have this.

I have injen cold air kit.

Anyone else in the 07 have this exhaust smell issue
with windows up or down, top up or down.

Stock exhaust.

No smell at all under normal driving.

Are you the original owner? Could it possibly have test pipes/ blown cats? Both of those would easily cause the smell

The smell is related to an exhaust leak, yet chances are it is only noticeable when you move a lot of exhaust gasses rapidly.

No leaks. Also I was wrong with the windows up and the top up, no smell. Crack a window only an inch and super strong after cat smell at 40mph and up wide open throttle.

When I changed my amp, I noticed the vent flaps are lighter weight plastic than the 04 model had.

I believe they are staying open over 40mph and letting the fumes in.

Next time I take the surround out of the truck I will reduce their air flow.

Do you have the original cats? Maybe it's time to get them replaced. CEL?

I just got a 2004 Roadster. I notice a strong smell also when I start the car in my garage. I had it looked at by Midas right after I got it and they didn't say anything about a leaking exhaust system.
