Default Front license plate toggle bolt method

I copied this from 350zmotoring where it was copied from some other forum. It's an issue that will keep coming up and hopefully it will be easier to search and find on this forum.

"Buy a universal license plate bracket from a local auto parts store--the ones with LOTS of holes and slots. Next, at your local hardware store pickup two 3" x 1/4" toggle bolts. Mount the bracket with the toggle bolts through the grill to each side of the tow-hook area. DO NOT drill holes! Snug it down.

Default or do it this way

instead of placing the toggle bolts through the tow hook, i placed them on the right side of the grille, since the intake was on the left side, not that it would affect it that much.

materials:

4 toggle bolts
1 universal license plate holder
1 screwdriver

optional:

clear license plate cover (for freeway rocks, debris, etc.)

Default bracket install done

just mount the plate, and the optional clear plate cover

by the way, the Cali fix-it ticket cost $25. plus $10 inspection fee at the sheriff's office. (i heard you can avoid paying the $10 if you go somewhere else that doesn't charge the fee.)

Default pic of installed lic. plate

better than having to drill the holes on the bumper, i'd say.
total cost: $12

hope this helps, everyone

Cool victory! Still I'd prefer a center mount (I guess for aesthetical balance purposes), but it sure beats any other [expensive] monetary investment.

Default maybe so

but it was way easier to install it on the side esp. with big hands... i could put my whole hand/arm inside the grille through the center part that opens up (pic #3)

maybe take a little more time to do center, but i'm a procrastinator and did it on the last day (inpection)

thanx for the feedback yo

Where is the plate kit itself ordered from. I like the toggle bolt idea.
