Question 2004 Roadster trunk struts question

Are the trunk struts of a 2004 Roadster with OEM spoiler the same as without spoiler?
Thanks

I may be wrong, but I was under the impression that the roadster did not come with a spoiler from the factory. If you do have a spoiler, then most likely, it has been added on. The struts should be the same unless someone put in different ones as well.

Are you asking because your trunk won't stay open?

Exactly.
The trunk won't stay open unless it is fully open.
Ok, I didn't know the Roadster did not come with a spoiler from factory.
Not my car but this is the spoiler I have

So would you say I need stronger struts or would the standard ones do?

Thanks

I dont think there is anything wrong with your struts - they are not multi-position.

Trunk is either fully open or closed, the struts are just to keep the trunk lid from crashing onto your lid while you are rummaging through the trunk.

Agreed. I think your struts are fine as long as your trunk stays open when you fully open it.

Not sure if this matters, but I have a larger aftermarket spoiler (not OEM style like yours) on my roadster and it will stay up if I have it about 3/4 open.
Maybe since it's bigger the counterbalance lets it stay like that?

I have the same spoiler. I don't know if it came with the car or not
