Lap times DB and track Videos
its kind of like my recent very close race with 6 of us within 1.5 seconds of each other, at least 8 lead changes, and a finish with me in first by .08 seconds....only to find out that I didn't turn my freaking video camera on.
That sucks. I know we have all been there before. I would have loved to see that video too.
Track: Laguna Seca, Monterey, CA
Date: 9-11 September 2011
Best Lap time: 1:46.1x
Car: 2003 Performance 350Z coupe
Tires: Hankook RS3, 285/35/18 x 4
Brakes: Stoptech 332mm front kit with Raybestos ST47, Brembo rear with Raybestos ST45
Other Modifications: Koni True Choice Phase IV coilovers, NISMO LSD, Hotchkis sways, Intake, Plenum Spacer, Pulleys, Shockwave Exhaust, ART pipes, APR GTC300 wing, JWT clutch and lightweight flywheel
Lap Notes (Rain, heat, etc): Dry
Within .8s of my best Hoosier time. Maybe it's time to try new Hoosiers now that I have the wing.
I'm still searching for that 1:43.3, which is the T2 350Z lap record.

And now a little faster yet, eclipsing the T2 lap record of 1:43.3:
Lap 3 (starting at 6:00) was a 1:42.3, and lap 5 (starting about 9:31, which had a touch of traffic heading into T11) was a 1:43.00. Good times! Oh yeah, and it's for sale (so that I can go W2W next year. . . finally!)

Here's a description of the 1970 "DemoZ" that I'm playing with, as well as some laps from his car two years ago:

Hmm, I'll have to look at the data to be sure, but it's at the lower end of 4th gear but above the speed of redline in 3rd gear; I'm guessing about 95mph based on the 3.5 gearing. The kink = entering the corkscrew? 50ish, I believe.

Bad Mid Corner under-steering on most of the corners, due to the new Wing setup, possibly need some front down force next time.

Track: Mid Ohio
Date: September 2011
Best Lap time: 1:37.9
Car: 2004 Nissan 350Z base
Tires : 255/35/18 Hoosier A6
Brakes: OEM Brembos with XP-12s and XP-10s
Other Modifications: APR wing, homemade front splitter/air dam, hotchkis sways, Motordyne intake/exhaust, Cusco A-arms
I finally uploaded a video from Nats last year. This was my fastest lap in TTB. 1:37.9. Sorry, no data. I watched my April Mid Ohio video before this and I can tell that I have improved a lot.
You can notice some of the biggest issues with my car in the video. I have a ton of wheel spin coming out of the corners. I need to junk my Quaiffe diff. I am leaving so much time on the track.
Secondly, I am severely under powered for my class. I can barely catch S2000s in the straights and you will see another TTB car later in the video that just walks me in the straight-aways. He is from the SE region I think. He drives a Sentra and his name is Joe. It is disheartening to know that he kills me in a straight line yet at the end of the event we ran pretty much identical times. I think I was faster by a hundredth or so.
My car was put on the dyno at Nats and put down 235whp, which made me about crap my pants because I put down 260whp in April and both dynos were Dynojets.
This winter I have spent most of my time getting weight out of my car and trying to gain more hp. I know that if I can have more straight away speed and power in general like my competitors, I will have a much better chance at winning. My power/weight last year was actually in TTC.
Anyway...here is the video.

Track: St. Petersburg Grand Prix
Date: March 2012
Best Lap time: 1:24.2 (didn't get that one on video)
Car: 2009 WC GTS 370Z
Tires : Pirelli PZero 275/645 18 (F), 305/645 18 (R)
Brakes: OEM Nismo - Hawk DTC70 (F), DTC60 (R)
Other Modifications: 3-way Penskes, DXD Race Clutch/Pressure Plate/Flywheel, Cat Removed, Z1 Test Pipes, Custom Exhaust, UpRev Tune, Upper Camber Arms (F), Toe Links (R) and lots of other stuff.
Even though it's not a 350, I thought it would be nice to see a Z on the St. Pete Grand Prix track.

Well we apparently missed the correct pressures by a huge margin (6-7 psi) and didn't figure it out until after the races when we finally found an engineer that would give us all the information about what our targets should be so it's a little hard to judge.
I can say that I didn't really notice any distinct characteristics which is good I guess. Every time I've tried a new tire, there was characteristic about it that took getting used to (i.e. BFGs are "darty" compared to Hoosiers). These didn't have any sort of characteristic like that. Because of our pressures though, they felt less grippy than I would have expected. I think the correct pressure will fix that and a lot of other handling issues that we had.
There will be lots of changes for Long Beach though so we'll see how that goes.
