Hoping to be a bit quicker this time now that I am more familiar with the car, have a better suspension and an alignment.

Never run with Speedtrial...good group to run with?

Yup, very well organize and a lot of experienced/race drivers love to share their experience. I got tons of track time the last weekend. Drove 300 track miles in both days.

Thanks. Last time you were there, had the track been re-sealed? When I ran last week, the track had a new sealent. It seemed a bit slicker in turn one to me but overall people seem to report that there is just as much overall grip, if not a touch more, than before being re-sealed.

Nope, not being re-sealed yet. I will be there on June 26 again and see the differences. How do u like the RS-3? What tire sizes were u running?

I love the RS-3. Great grip, good breakaway characteristics, ok wear for a 140 treadwear tire and they handle the heat pretty well. I was usually running my fastest lap toward the end of the session. I run a 265/35-18 front and 285/35-18 rear.

Track: Mid Ohio Pro Course Lexington Ohio
Date: July 17th 2011
Best Lap time: 1:39.663
Car: 2004 Nissan 350Z Base
Tires: Hoosier A6; 255/35/18 (massive for 255's )
Brakes: OEM Brembos; Carbotech XP-10's in front; XP-8's in rear
Other Modifications: Zeal Function X Coilovers, Quaiffe LSD, Hotchkis Sways with SPL spherical endlinks, Motordyne 5/16" plenum spacer, Kinetix HFC's, Motordyne 3in single exhaust, Black Enkei RPF-1's, Braille 15lb battery, Oil cooler, APR GTC-300 Wing, Homemade wood front splitter and aluminum air dam, Cusco front A-arms, SPC rear camber arms and weighed 3210lbs with me in it and about 1/2 tank of fuel.
Lap Notes (Rain, heat, etc): about 95-97 degrees, hot, humid, dry and heat index around 105.

Me and some of the fellow TT guys think a low 1:38 is going to win Nationals so I got to pick it up. Just corner balanced the car and took more weight out after this last event so I should be fast in a couple weeks when we go again.

What angle do you guys run the GTC wing at for open track events? I just installed mine, so am curious what your experiences have been to help me dial it in to start. Thanks.

I don't know the exact angle right now. I have played with it a little at different tracks. I will measure the angle and take some pics of it on the car and the bolt holes I am using so you can get a better idea. I have only ran it at three events so far and I am not 100% the best location, but it feels pretty good. For shorter tracks I adjust it for more AOA. There is a track I run with only one short straight and mostly up and down turning so I adjust it a lot for that one, but Mid Ohio has more straights so it is back out a lot more now. I'll get back to you.

Thanks! I think their wind tunnel data suggests that it should be kept at 10* or less AoA, as there are very small gains in DF with big additions in drag over 10. At 15*, the DF actually reduces to the same amount as when it's at 5*. I figure I'll use it at 10 for autox, as there is still some effect, and 2-5 for open tracking, depending on the track configuration.
