One of the other things that I read on their website was that the AoA also depends on how the rear windshield/hatch tapers off towards the back of the car. So different cars would require a different AoA which makes sense. With cars like ours, the rear windshield/hatch pretty much slowly tapers off to the back of the car. I believe they recommend having it close to 0 because of this. Whereas cars that have abrupt drops in the rear hatch you need more AoA. It's all on their website.

Are you running TTB? I'm so excited for Nats. I am about to post up another video from the last Mid Ohio race two weekends ago. I got into the 1:38's, but I know I can get into the 1:37's and they both are running Nat's. I had a lot of car troubles on Saturday and that's when the track was really really fast and I missed out. Two other guys got into the 1:37's. Sunday it rained and the track slowed up big time. I ran a 1:39.2 on my 20 heat cycle A6's starting from the back of the field on Saturday, so I know with my good tires and no traffic it would have been 1:37's. We'll see. I am looking forward to meeting you. We got to rep more Nissans.

Me and this other guy in a 240 normally do really well in TTB. Video coming in next post.

Track: Mid Ohio Pro Course Lexington Ohio
Date: August 14th 2011
Best Lap time: 1:38.96
Car: 2004 Nissan 350Z Base
Tires: Hoosier A6; 255/35/18 (massive for 255's )
Brakes: OEM Brembos; Carbotech XP-10's in front; XP-8's in rear
Other Modifications: Zeal Function X Coilovers, Quaiffe LSD, Hotchkis Sways with SPL spherical endlinks, Motordyne 5/16" plenum spacer, Kinetix HFC's, Motordyne 3in single exhaust, Black Enkei RPF-1's, Braille 15lb battery, Oil cooler, APR GTC-300 Wing, Homemade wood front splitter and aluminum air dam, Cusco front A-arms, SPC rear camber arms and weighed 3210lbs with me in it and about 1/2 tank of fuel.
Lap Notes (Rain, heat, etc): High 70's and humid. Just rained the session before.

Sorry no HD on this one. Just started messing with data too and I'm still getting used to it and all that fun stuff. I went way too slow through the fast left hander coming out of thunder valley T13. I was about 5-7mph faster through there on some of my slower laps, so I know I'm leaving some serious amount of time on the track. I also braked too early on this lap too at the end of back straight. I got to get it together more to have a chance at winning Nats. I will be happy with a podium, but I really want that number 1 spot.
Enjoy!
Data starts as soon as I cross start/finish.

Yea. One of the guys that had a Subi dropped out. He blew his motor in July at Mid Ohio. There are only 6 cars now which sucks. We had 11 just this past event. It's upsetting that only two of us Great Lakes/Midwest region guys are going to Nat's for TTB. Me and the guy with the 240.

TTA has like 15 cars. That's insane. Wish we could have that.

the cool thing is they are running TTA, S, U, and R as one group. So TTB should have an open track and no Vipers to hold us up

That is very cool. We ran split group at the last Mid Ohio event a couple weeks ago. It was ok. There were 15 TTE & F cars. Some of them were stupid slow. We were catching traffic too quick. It is weird because there are some that know how to drive and you never see them and then there are some that have no business being on the track. I mean cutting my corner speed almost in half because they are so slow. It's like having an HPDE1 guy on track with you. Not cool. Those people need to stay away from Nats. LOL

I just counted 27 total for Nat's so we will be all set it sounds like. I cannot wait. There were still 40 in our split group a couple weeks ago.

Within .8s of my best Hoosier time. Maybe it's time to try new Hoosiers now that I have the wing. I'm still searching for that 1:43.3, which is the T2 350Z lap record.

Nice job at Mid-O, fixxercask. I autocross with DJ Fitzpatrick quite a bit....guy can drive the wheels off a car. First time ever at Mid-O and runs a 1:36 in a TTC car. Any in-car from the event?

Yea, that DJ guy is something else. He has that car dialed in and he is one hell of a driver. I need to be in the 1:36's. The car has got it in it too. I just need to get better. I do have some video, but it's going to take me awhile to go through it. I want to put up my 1:37.9 lap. This was my first year in TT and my first year at Nats. I'll be ready for next year. Every time I go to Mid Ohio I get faster. Always a faster lap than before. The car pretty much stayed the same all year too, so I know it was me getting better. I hope it doesn't stop any time soon.

I am out of town right now for work. I am going to Road America this weekend for the season finale. I should have the TTB championship. All I have to do is place. When I get back from Road America, I will go through my Nats videos and get one up with some data.

Thanks!
