Default Black Box for bypassing Alpine

Anyone have any experience with the black box sold on ebay for bypassing the Alpine video lock? Will it work with the TME-M770? How hard is it to wire up because I will probably have to do it myself since an installer probably wont do it?

Installers will do it...the unit is actually made for boats since they dont have parking brakes. LOL. Usually they will make u sign something that says they are not at fault if you are injured in an accident due to the video screen.

I hope you got the right one...most of the ones on e-bay are made for older units. They require you to manually switch it on when you start your car. And after several hours the HU times out and shuts down.

You dont need it for the tme-m770. All you have to do is ground out one wire . The wire comes in a seperate bag with a warning sticker on it, you need to insert it into the wire harness.

****, you're right. I just opened the box and found the wire you are talking about. Looks like I just wasted $50 on eBay.
