Default hardwiring V1 question

hello im trying to hardwire my V1 to my rear view mirror. i know on the mirror the black wire is ground and the black wire w/ red stripe is +12. i cut the telephone cord and inside are 4 wires green, red, yellow, and black. I know that the green is ground and the red is +12. my question is what do i do w/ the other 2 wires form the phone cord( yellow and black). do i just leave them unhooked or what. thanks

read this while doing my own research, try the search function, lots of posts already about this.

I just hardwired my V-1 today, went to the cigarette lighter, very easy.

You are correct xsmallpaulx. Green is the hot wire and the red is the ground. The yellow and brown wires you don't need unless you are wiring in the small V-1 Remote display:

Believe it or not, this was my VERY FIRST mod on the car. Notice the date on the pic. I had just picked up the car on 9/24/02.
