Your head unit has an AUX. in on the back. Pull it from your dash and you'll see an RCA in. Hook it into that.

Like Santacruzslick said, just use the aux audio input on your headunit. That's the best way to go as long as your headunit has an aux input. That's what I did with my PS2 install.

As far as power, I have my inverter hooked up to a switched power line that goes on and off with the car, so the PS2 shuts off when I turn the key off (just like the stereo and everything else). However, when I turn the car on the PS2 does not come on automatically. I have to reach back and press the power button. It's not really a problem as long as you install the thing somewhere you can easily reach the button.

On the other hand, I've seen a bunch of install in all sorts of cars where they relocate the power button from the Xbox. This is probably the fanciest way to do it, but it requires you to disassemble the Xbox and run the power switch somewhere. Might be a bit risky if you're not comfortable with something like that.

If you have a head unit that does not say sat on it, you have to buy the soundgate adapter. I'm selling mine cause I just bought a head unit that has an aux in. Its brand new and on the website it goes for 100+. I will sell you mine for 60 plus shipping. Brand new still in box. Just let me know.

Is there a way to do something like this with the PS2?

You mean the power switch? Probably, but I've never seen it. It's just an electric switch, so I don't imagine it'd be too hard to make an extension for it.

Yeah the power switch. I would still hate to just hack into a perfectly good gaming system without knowing exactly what to do though.
I re-adjusted my PS2's location where it sits right on the glove box lid, it's a little closer to me now.

The power switch is probably just a "momentary" switch. If so, then there will just be two leads going to it. When you press the power switch, it momentarily contacts those leads, signalling the PS2 to power on. A typically computer's power switch works this way, too. So, you'd have to de-solder that switch, solder a wire onto each lead, run those wires to wherever you want them, and connect another momentary switch there. Probably not too hard, but you'd have to be comfortable disassembling your PS2.

http://www.xbox-scene.com/articles/rf-power.php

this will show you how to do it. the only difference is, you will have to have to program one of the garage door opener buttons in your rearview mirror. shouldnt take more then a few mins to do that.

Hey, now *that's* a good idea. Factory-integrated wireless power control for your game console. Fantastic!

just wondering what you guys are doing with the power inverter on/off switch. i was thinking of extending the switch to make it a little easier to get to.

Mine is just set permanently to the on position. I just hooked up the inverter to a switched power source, so it shuts off when I turn the car off, and comes on when I turn the car on (just like any other accessory). That way I never have to mess with the inverter power switch.

i was going to do the same thing, but i was worried about that static noise i'd get from running it off the the cig lighter. i ended up running a line from the battery to a power filter to a switch and then to the inverter. a bit more work, but i hope its all worth it.

i dont want to ever open the glove box behind the seat. trying to figure something out for the CD rom now.
