Nobody here in the UK sells the Compustar range of alarms, but I fancy one of the 2WSS models. Have seen them for sale on ebay.com & was wondering about importing a kit from the USA via an ebay seller.
Are they easy/difficult/impossible to fit yourself does anyone know & are the ebay sellers best to avoid or a good place for me to buy online?

I would say close to impossible to do it yourself because of the fact there is some programing to do to it... When I had mine install'd they attached a computer to it in order to do all the setting's.

I have installed quiet a few compustars in 350z's including my own. I would not suggest doing it your self unless you have a vast knowledge of electronics. It is very easy to cause alot of damage if you start tapping wrong wires. If your interested in a compustar PM me, i work at an authorized compustar shop[ and can get you whatever you need.

I was quoted by an audio shop for the Viper X71 with remote start, kill starter, truck pop and 2 way responder, around $530 with install. Is this a reasonable price? Also, he said he would need one of my keys to use with the system? Is this right?

Looks like trying to fit an alarm myself is not the way to go then, cheers for your thoughts guys

Shop fitted alarm systems seem to be very expensive here & more basic, most of them don't even have a pager system, which is what I want. I'll have to keep looking & try every shop in the UK, must be a decent one out there somewhere
