Again, nissan got our $$$$ already and published some cheesy TSB fix................I have come to terms with this problem and will be installing an adequate system as soon I can save some cash.
That is the only real fix............

Hey if you didn't realize it... Nissan allways marries Bose with Clarion. This IS NEVER a good marrige. Bose is very finiky it only wants Bose parts. No mix and match otherwise you get shicrap out your speakers. Personally I have heard that Clarion sucks anyways and to steer clear of it. So there really is no good from this stereo system. Plus serves you right for buying something like a car without investigating. Any magazine would have told you that the stereo was sucky. ALSO I believe that the Bose stereo in the 300zx also sounded bad mainy cause of the above mentioned marrige. The moral of the story is allways do reserch and dont hurt every one else with a law suit that will increase prices and hurt every one just cause your pissed.

The truth is that the stereo just doesn't work. There is a lot of "smart" technology built into the car, but the audio pilot just doesn't do what it is intended to do (or at least if it does, then they should have intended for it to do something else).

I think I have the newer amp and it has absolutely no sub bass. The stereo has bass, but as much as any other 5 1/4 inch system would have.

I think we should all be able to at least expect a system that works well. Even if the sound is not as good as aftermarket. But changing the amp is not the solution. Like someone else in here said, they just turned down the bass (I don't know if it sounds clearer because I didn't have the pre TSB set-up to compare it to). They did nothing in my opinion to fix the audio pilot problem. And if anyone thinks that the audio pilot problem is better with the new amp, I am glad I didn't get to check it out on the old amp.

I am absolutely going to give Nissan a call and see if they have any interest in trying to correct the problem. It really seems like a waste to have to take all of the components out and throw them in the garbage.
