Default comparison of 04-05 bose componants

I would like to see a comparison of 04-05 bose componants if possible. Can the 05 replace the 04 for at least a little better sound?

I've pulled out all the '05 stuff from my 35th Anniversary and took some pictures to compare the stock stuff with replacements.

Is it true that the Avic N2 can't be used with DVD Movie Watching while the vehicle is in motion?

Yes, sort of as it's federal law.

You can watch the DVD in the back seat.

If you mount a second screen in the cubby hole you can sucessfully watch videos in the front seat.

Ahhh ... I see how you did it then, your 'back seat monitor' is in the cubby ...

I'm trying to do something a little different: I want to leave the stock HU in and then use an external box to handle my Navigation and DVD Playing. Perhaps even add an A/B switch so an Xbox or PS2 can be wired in to the same display.

Here's the problem:

I have no idea how to make this work, nor do I have any idea how hard it would be to install the '03 Cubby in an '05 (if it's even possible) to give me more room. I also have no idea how I would get audio out of this into my stock HU. I'm not a very handy person and if I have to start taking things apart (like the center console), I'm in big big trouble.

My hope was to install a good Navi/GPS/DVD in one of the back 'slots' and the PS2/Xbox w/ Power Invertor into the Glove Box. I would then install the '03 cubby and a Fahrenheit 7000MRT monitor (trying to find what the diff between the 7000 and 7001 is). Audio output would go to the Stock HU, perhaps on the SAT channel or something (If I have that option? I don't have any Satellite radio now nor do I intend to get one). I have the 6 CD Changer so I'm not sure I'll have an available AUX or whatever. Now, if I can run the cables via air-gap, I'll be fine.

Anyone in South Florida have something similar to this that they can help me with? I'll buy beer/soda chicken wings, and pizza.

I have an '05 and that is an '03 cubby in there! If you can work a screw driver in both ways you can do this yourself. The '03 door is shaped a bit different than the '05 but works well none the less.

You could use an FM modulator to get the audio into the Bose stock unit.
