Default A reply from Bose

Thought I would share;

Thank you for your inquiry regarding the Bose Automotive Music System in your 2004 Nissan 350Z. In answer to your question, Bose Corporation does not offer a different speaker in the 2005 Model we use papercone speakers because they offer a better frequency response in our Systems. Also, it is true the speakers are matched to the original equipment head unit and amplifier and they are not compatible with after market equipment.

In other words, you have to replace everything for a complete system.

It kind of funny because I'm in a rental (FX35) and it has a Bose system as well. It sounds a million times better then the ones in our Zs. Hopefully the '06s will have a better sound.

How is the iPod Interface? I like the Clarion 755 because of the excellent touch-screen GUI for the iPod. Everyone else seems to have added it as an afterthought -- Alpine still has that stupid 250-Limit, even on the D310 and I think the N1 only shows like 8 chars of the title/name.

I need something that plays DVD's, does NAVi, and has a great iPod Interface. That's all I want. Sheesh ...

The Avic doesnt support scrolling title/artist for the info comming from the ipod, which bites because if the title/artist is more than i believe 7 characters it will cut them off...but with a simple touch you can get all that info..i do admit it doesnt have the greatest ipod interface....but it is easy and simple to navigate to your playlists and scroll through songs...very simple, nothing fancy

I enjoy using the Navi features since i know where every place is but i get lost getting to them from different locations...comes handy..it even has an address book where you can store locations and name them with options such as dislplaying them on the map with little icons...add a mic and just speak out your location, and there you go....route being calculated..

DVD's play great, resolution isnt that Bad, the controls very easy, but it wont play while driving, as soon as it senses movement it will stop...i dont care how many people come up with a fix, it will simply not work,if it does it will then have bugs or you will have to compromise other features...g-force and navi

many features require you to be fully stopped with the hand brake applied to use them, now that can be bypassed...with a little switch...

the pioneer Avic, is as complicated as $hit, but when you discover the touch screen features and hidden menus you might get a kick out of it...

did i regret it? nahhh....not for $2000 bucks

Thanks! you mentioned that with a touch you can see the info -- is there a display setting or something? Also, I was wondering how the searching worked -- I have 10,000+ songs. Do I have to search via playlist? Or can I drill down to song number #4765 (for example) easily?
