I had a Compustar system (along with 2 locking lug nuts/wheeel) installed after my wheels were stolen . You can read more about it in this thread...

No complaints here!

A few minor things...it chirps when the alarm activates. Apparently, the birds which live in the garage at my work think it's a greeting of some sort. From a distance, I've observed many birds flying to the car and gathering under it.

At home (I don't have a garage) I was getting a few alerts that the perimeter alarm had been triggered (full alarm doesn't activate unless the perimeter is violated again w/in 30 seconds). When I looked, nothing was around. Finally, I caught the culprit...I was looking at the car (as I do alot cuz it's just that schweeet ) and saw a squirrel coming across the street. When it got too close, the car chirped and the squirrell bolted.

Case solved.

For those that purchased the Compustar system where did you buy it from? I've emailed them directly asking for dealer locations and have received no response.

The installer i use was told it was a $4000 fine for each unit he got caught selling because they arent registered with U.S. FCC, believe they are canadian. He sold them for a couple years untill he got that info. He said they were great units and he didnt think anything was wrong with having them just selling them. Might be why they hard to find.

So if you turned on the alarm in a parking lot, would it chirp everytime someone walked by? Does it only start actually going off if someone messes with the handles or shakes it?

Thanks

According to their website, the company is in the process of moving into a new home office (they're moving a few thousand miles). Their website said to be patient until the end of this month when they get settled in and catch up on the backlog of requests.
