I was wondering, I am about to install an Aftermarket HU but I am not doing anything to the rest of the sound system yet, will the sub still work(bose system)? I know in some cars it won't unless u get an adapter but didn't know for sure?
already a thread for this:

All I can say is, is that Mesa Radio installed an Eclipse AVX2494 in my 2003 "Tour" yesterday using two kits from www.peripheralelectronics.com "The Key To O.E.M." Integration and my Bose system has never sounded this good! Check out thread on Mesa Radio install with pics.

Cool! What's a differential signal though? I want to change out my HU and all my existing speakers with the exception of the sub (that's next, but probably a few weeks after I do everything else) ... my plan was to keep the sub and use it; as crappy as it might be, it's better than nothing I would think?
And Camaro, I think I started that thread you linked to ... the answer appears to be yes, but the link provided for that additional stuff appears to answer how ... wish I understood this differential stuff though? I thought that the stock HU basically ran signals to two amps. One amp ran the factory speakers, and the other ran the bose sub. There was a crossover somewhere that sends the base to the sub and the mids and highs to the front and rears ... apparently, it's not like that though as someone posted that the speaker wires for the fronts and rears are somehow connected to the sub amp? I guess if you want to change your factory setup you need to change out your existing speaker wires? Which is apparently a big pain in the butt due to the harnesses in the doors?

Just did some searching and found that you will need to get a metra wiring harness if you want to use the bose speakers with an aftermarked headunit. Good luck!

I am not an electronics guy, but in addition to the harness was told it was also needed to make the Bose work. Wish I had done this a year ago!
