how do i take off that big black foam thing in the hatch?
you know what im talking about. that big black foam thing that holds the jacking tools. how do i take those off? i've noticed there is one plastic pin holding the thing, but even after i remove the pin, the foam won't come out. i could've pulled it real hard but i wanted to confirm with you guys before i do. it looks like i could break that thing easy.
how do i take that foam out? i need to take them both out so i can put some sound-deadning materials in there. thank you.

what part do you mean by "plastic"? is there any plastic panet involved? all i took out was that round little plastic clip. and the thing was still not moving.
There may bemore than one clip. But I do know that those peices are hard to just pull out as there are more protrusions for non-existant clips, but those protrusions make it really hard to pull it out, but it can be done. OR just take apart that entire side of the trunk and then you can just pull it up.
In order to get the foamy things out, you have to pull the actual side panels off first. There are some screws holding the foam in, that are not visible until you remove the side panels. If you try pulling the foam out, after just removing the plastic retaining caps, you'll rip the foam apart. This applies to both pieces of foam. The foam on the driver's side is even more difficult to remove. This is beacause the foam sits on top of the Bose amp, but then again you have the Base model, so you probably don't have the Bose amp. Anyhow, you still have to remove the side panel.
Ehh, mine came out just fine without removing any panels. Took off that one plastic screw thingy on the floor and just used some force to pull the block out. Didn't break it or anything. You just have to kinda push up while you're pulling out.
