Default Opening the trunk with aftermarket remote start?

I noticed that Viper's aftermarket remote start keychains have lock/unlock, etc, which means i'd want to use one instead of the factory keyless entry keychain. But what about the trunk? Can any of them handle that?

I have a Compustar alarm which could handle remote start, but I don't have remote start on mine. It can still pop the trunk open for you though (if you hold down one of the buttons) , if that's what you're asking?

Yes the viper can open the trunk. I believe it requires a seperate replay to be used. Which is only like $10. It will probably be switched to the AUX button.

Is there a way to open the trunk from within the car? I haven't seen a trunk release in the ZR other than the one in the trunk itself and the one on the FOB ... ?

No. I open mine with my Viper alarm. I can also roll my windows up and down with it before or after locking it....

Yeah, wonder why you can't roll up the windows with the stock remote? My VW could.

Although not a factory option it is rather easy to add the ability to raise the windows with the OEM remote.

The ZR doesn't have a strut bar ... ? But I'll check by the License Plate ... I completely forgot to look there ...

Yes, the KPtechnologies window modules utilize the OEM anti pinch system. You can also stop remote movement of the windows by pressing the 'LOCK' button again. This is useful if something gets in the way, or if you want to leave the windows vented.

Is there a how-to for taking off the door panels? I'm not very handy -- do you think I can install this ... ?

There isn't one included with the module, but its not very hard to do. I'm sure there is a DIY for door panel removal in the audio forum on this site, you'll just have to search a bit.

i have a viper alarm and went on ebay and got a relay for around $20 so that every time i lock it rolls up the windows. took it to a stereo shop and had it installed for 1 hr labor at $45/hr, as i didnt feel like dealing with the hassle. also, i already had the trunk relay so the aux button pops the trunk.
