I've never used one personally but I do know that they make a high-quality product. Must of the guys who run the Tecate SCORE Baja 500 and 1000 off-raod races use Lowrance GPS.

my dad bought one of those for himself, cause they were pretty cheap at around 4-500 bucks...

i used it briefly, and i can say this, they work okay, but whenit comes to features, and smartness, they really lack a lot comapred to an in dash unit like an avic from pioneer, or alpine units.

having had my avic-n1 ever since they came out, i had a hardtime getting usd to this little unit.

honestly, i think for double the price, i would get an avicd1, IF i had hte money, if not and getting to know places is of the essense, then this i am sure works well.

other units my dad sampled were tomtomgo, and magellan ones...
