my dad bought one of those for himself, cause they were pretty cheap at around 4-500 bucks...
i used it briefly, and i can say this, they work okay, but whenit comes to features, and smartness, they really lack a lot comapred to an in dash unit like an avic from pioneer, or alpine units.
having had my avic-n1 ever since they came out, i had a hardtime getting usd to this little unit.
honestly, i think for double the price, i would get an avicd1, IF i had hte money, if not and getting to know places is of the essense, then this i am sure works well.
other units my dad sampled were tomtomgo, and magellan ones...

yeah magellan and garmin, etc cost more. except the garmin i3 but those look so dinky and i dont know if they have a 2d overhead map function. but the lowrance iway350c runs for about 400 on ebay.
